Kiss my asshole in the classic style, tell that bitch don't have a cow ooooh, don't look for answers from necromancers, don't assSSsSSssk me how lalala -- and then it goes into a Mexican cha cha cha ... weird song.
I remember coming in as a kid after playing football and my mam said I've taped a Billy Joel Concert for you (This one, BBC TV 1984). I thought , er thanks (I'd only heard 2 songs by him). I ended up watching it just so not to hurt her feelings - it's still the best concert I've ever seen and I kept that video for 23 years. Bought some of his stuff but it never captured in the studio what he and his band did here.
he seems like he's really fun live. I'd give my big toe to be able to go back and see him then. they don't make them like this any more. if they do, they never make it to any fame. too bad for the next generation.
Yeah me too. I've seen him a number of times live starting in about '04, and even then, he isn't even CLOSE to what he is in a video like this. In this he actually might sound better than the recording, nowadays he doesn't really try to hit any notes. I understand he's older but videos like this make me sad haha.
i disagree. ive seen billy twice, in 99 and earlier this year with elton. he spent alot of the 99 concert running around to different keyboards and pianos spread around the stage. even today, hes a very capable and enthusiastic performer. elton paled in comparison. billy played piano, guitar, and was flipping the mic stand around during 'uptown girl'. he began his set with a blistering version of "prelude/angry young man," and his voice was perfect. it was all very impressive for a man near 60.
@haleynicoledance I had been to a few concerts with my parents when I was a kid, but the very first concert i chose to go to myself was billy joel. it was back in '83 during the innocent man tour. he was awesome, pounding the piano, jumping on top of speakers,,,crazy man, and I loved every minute of it.
aw dude, don't call him BJ. Think about how that sounds in this generation...anyway, I love Billy Joel! This is one of my favorite songs by him actually, and I love the diversity some of his material achieves.

Once again, Here's Mr. Joel being Sweet Billy Badass. He's the Sylvester Stallone of musicians, you know.

Don't often hear this song these days, but a great simple melody with nice chords
& the genius of Billy Joel takes me back to when I was about 11 & the 3 albums
I owned Billy's Glass Houses, Meat Loafs Bat Out of Hell & Boz Scaggs Silk Degrees,
Cool days, thanks for the post

So talented. I love the way he sings. For a kid from the Bronx, he sure can hold a note.

@nagaslrac Billy Joel is from Long Island.

@TheJohnnyCotts that might be the case now but he was born in the Bronx and the grew up in Hicksville and Levittown.
