This one's clearly different from the original, yet works as a stand-alone interpretation.
I dig the "liner notes," too. You're so right about how it would have been a stronger single LP, than a weaker/padded double disc set; especially today -- when they can fit ALL of ...YELLOW BRICK ROAD on one CD -- they could fit all of THE WALL on one disc.
