@jellebond for hair that long you gotta do that annoying hairspray & tease with the comb. I can't teach how to do that, cause i never do it. but there are a lot of tutorials from other people so try find them. mostly in "Jrock Hairstyle" tags

@limeleven11 from wet hair yes. I just got out of the shower when I made this video. if you don't dry your hair up after a shower, then your hair would be flat down and no volume. it's gonna be harder to style that way. if you don't do step 1 to get your hair up all fluffy. then the other way to do this style, is doing 1 spike at a time. which takes forever :(

Do you have to treat your hair beforehand, such as rebonding, perming, etc. before attempting this look. My long hair touches the top bridge of my nose & I always wanted to have cool hair. And how do you add volume to your hair? I noticed that your hair naturally stands up thus giving that added volume effect & movement.

tilt your head down and blow dry it then. that's how you get your hair to stand up.

@sonicJKevin Do have a straightener? trying lightening by spiking your hair with one then add product to the roots, that's the area you want the product to be in. You can apply a whole tub to your hair but if you don't get the roots it'll be a waste. Kind of the typical way though, not sure if you really like the method, and it can really damage your hair after a while, though it's taken over two years for my hair to start showing any damage rofl

@sonicJKevin that seems pointless to me honestly, though I personally just dislike the thickness and cleanness of each spike. But I do my hair differently anyway. If it's the feel of the product near your scalp you could probably get away by adding as little as possible then a lil bit of hairspray
