Black bow hair is more course so there is a fuller louder sound which is ideal for orchestral playing for some bassists.

So i heard that the higher notes [with black hair] are weaker. Is this true? I don't know, since my 2 bows are white-haired....

the german bow is better for getting the depth needed in sound but for speed i would go with the french bow
