his ego was wayyy to big for his britches in his early years and it showed in his voice in every manner. back then he had an exclusive on singing romantic songs like no other , plus the accompanient of a full orchestra which was rare in itself also. but he was never anything tooo special, therefore not slacking on words when he sang would have been a good thing for him to do. however I did find I liked his more recent years of work, his weight gain and age has matured him all around.
Ok, just a technical comment. Peter now does have a great technique, but not the voice he used to have. Notice how he cuts the words. That's because he can't sustain the high notes. The same song from 1983 (I guess) shows a very different scenario. The girl still sings softly with a great voice though.
What I am wondering is how Amy got to sing with Peter Cetera! I love her and all, but Im pretty surprised but this musical duo.... sadly, both talented, but no musical magic happening here!

I had the pleasure of seeing Amy Grant in concert in 2008 and it was such a blessing!! Amy is so down to earth and a total sweetheart! Those who didnt attend the concert really missed out big time! Amy's voice still sounds golden... or, should I say Platinum! :-)
