Why "inappropriate for kids", jadenyuki? I saw a bootleg copy that was filmed in a theater and heard kids laughing hysterically throughout the movie (annoying, by the way). The violence was minimal and the scary scenes were done in a non-threatening slapstick manner. Also, children apparently think that dinosaur pee is one of the funniest things in the world.

The memorable thing about Land of the Lost (TV), was that it was made to be an adventure for kids. Low-budget and far-fetched didn't really mean that much.

The movie turns the whole idea from an adventure to a comedy. And more precisely, a vehicle for Will Ferrell and his gags.  The movie would be taken for what it is, if it was called "Goofy Guy in Dinosaur Land" with no connection to the "Land of the Lost" premise. And so this movie is a disappointment and a letdown, and will be a flop.

It was a good movie. The CGI wasn't as good as lets say "Jurassic Park", but I'm 15 and I enjoyed it. The PG13 rating is fair. This film is NOT close to an R-rating.
