Well, I kind of figured it was someone famous in that time period. Whenever I hear jokes that reference 15-minutes-of-fame celebs, I always wonder how relevant the joke will be in 20 years. Even today, it puzzles me when movies make references to celebs like snooki and Justin Beiber. If you want a movie or a skit that stands up to the test of time, then you need material that wont become out-dated. And yeah, I know, its just a joke, but I'm complicated, so :p

@chadd990 I wasn't very clear - he's still famous now, just not on TV much anymore (he wasn't a 15-mins-of-fame celeb, he was a big name, just was on a lot in the 80's and 90's in the UK). But I get your point - don't be so complicated! :)

@MrOphachew Except for rather well-known tricks, like the cups and balls, they actually expose nothing. They invent new tricks, or new ways to do tricks, in order to expose them. Its just a shtick. For example, the magic boxes trick, that they do with the clear boxes and trap doors, in reality is usually done nothing like that - there is a much simpler way, but that would be less entertaining to see exposed.

Teller does talk in one of the skits that they do in Vegas.

He also talks after the show when you can get photos and autographs with him. Both take a lot of time after their show, when they are visibly tired out of their minds, to spend about 45 minutes doing this after each show.
