  • @MrStig691 Yeah dummy i know. There were other nations that fought with USA side by side in most conflicts fought in the past esp. your closest ally UK. Now that the world is fed-op of terrorism, you yanks need to be suspicious of your untrustworthy ally Pakistan as war on terror is being dragged. In-fact ,that country is full of idiots. The Pakistani ISI and their armed forces are keeping you folks in the dark. No thanks for calling me an idiot as i am not one man.

  • I wish a man of caliber like General Patton of WWII (blood & guts) were alive today then US army would have won both in Afghanistan and Iraq simultaneously.

Hard to say about vietnam bcoz the jungles were hard, booby trapped and tough for u Americans to fight.

  • @samnigam20 yeah patton would surely reissue the order to kill pows like he did in france ;)

  • @samnigam20 It's not just the "US Army" in those theatres idiot.

  • Man, what have you done to the real cinema :(

  • in color???

  • Wow it looks so different in colour.

  • Briliant movie!

  • john wayne is a legend

  • omg yes this movie was in black and white

but they did a recolor some time ago

    what's the problem?

  • @17bluemoon1 he doen't even need a gun. Just needs to threaten to pull one out.

  • Yes.

  • WOW since when has this movie been in color????

  • @Mike0N0ike57 it was filmed in colour, then decided to put in out in black and white, because that way, they could put old stock footage from ww2 into the film.

  • isnt the longest day black and white ?

  • Holy crap! This is the first time I've ever seen any part of The Longest Day in color

  • I am trying to find the colour version.

  • @17bluemoon1 ....and Robert Mitchum, and Eddie Albert and scores of others....

  • in colour? whoa

  • i didnt think this movie was avaliable in color

  • wht the I have this film on DVD and its in black and white???

  • @EvilElmo02

Same here, but that's the way it was back then. It's better like that, it gives it that authentic old school look.

  • Draft dodging coward Wayne was far too old to play 27-year-old Democrat Colonel Vandervoort.

  • Wayne could play a 20 year old "Right" now

  • @PeterFirthFan

what uniform did you wear bigmouth? you must be one of those egg sucking obama / bill clinton supporters. if you want to talk about draft dodgers lets talk about that dope smoking son of a bitch bill clinton

  • Clinton was one of the best presidents he put cops on the street and the fbi in foreign countrys crime went down the economy went up [6 million guitars sold a year ] and he paid the deficit .

  • lets not forget all of the lowlife scum he pardoned at the end of his term. not to mention he passed up chances to get bin ladin.

  • He might have gotten bin laden if the republicans would have let him do his job instead they had to constantly distract him with hearings about wolinski .

  • maybe if he acted like apresident in the oval office instead of taking advantage of a star struck girl who was young young enough to be his daughter he would have had time for bin ladin. lets not forget about the scum he pardoned at the end of his term.

  • What the hell are you talking about? how G.W.Bush involved with panama and g.f.1? He wasn't even president when that went down. His dad was. And if you want to talk g.f.1 we didnt start that?

  • He was on the grassy knoll, now hand over obama's real birth certificate.

  • We knew that already; as to Obama's real birth certificate, I suggest you try the Trilateral Commission files.

  • you know there is a color verson right.

    its the 65th anversre

  • LOLOL o man do r u wrong lololol.... maybe you should go back to africa.

  • Hey ObamaRules4Ever, Do you want me to slit your throat? Fuck you, and Obama as well.

  • Obama that asshole, he probily wouldent let this movie be made now a-days, because its not politically corrert lolol. so happy he fucking up so bad, but we all knew it was going to happen fast.

  • Yup.

  • if you cold spare the time lets make a play date

  • no Clark Gable was a romantic actor icon. He was a ladies man. he was in a war movie but he played opposite Lana Turner as a love interest.

  • Draft dodger Wayne was far too OLD.

  • rite on man!

  • man this movie is just so good! i rly wish they still made them epic like this, but ur rly cant beat these actors. man i hated saving privet ryan, this is wat a war movie should b like. the one things they dident add was blood and gor witch is fine, we all know that in real life that there is. they never even show these movie on TV anymore i hate it. and im only 22 and i love them, band of brothers was ok, i thought it was alot better the saving privet ryan. it had a old vibe.

  • 82,100,101 us airborne i can not us army

  • was Clark Gable a war movie icon like John Wayne?

  • i dont think John Wayne was a draft dodger at all, for wat i can make of it he was just to damn importent to the troop like on the USO tours. thats how the millitary used him. they sed he can do alot more helping the moral of the troops like this then he can out of the field.

  • The stress of being a paratrooper in the 82nd added 23 years.

  • Well..... He looks younger in black and white lol.

  • Not really for a Lt. Col.

  • Comment removed

  • Doesn't change the fact that draft dodger Wayne was far too OLD and FAT.

  • So that's what it looks like in color

  • The BEST WAR MOVIE EVER!

better to watch in black and white, the way it was made,

  • its said to be the best war movie ever

  • wow, i find it very difficult to value the opinion of someone who wishes cancer on someone. And who exactly was talking about mormons, muslims or black voters? I was refering to the film. Calm down.

  • belva 1 you are a upfront tosser!

  • war is fun!

  • In the 1940's people never swore, when they got shot they just rolled around but no blood would ever come out. Saving private ryan really showed these films up. The war was not about John wayne type heroes, it was harsh and horrific. Private ryan was the first film to ever take the crap hollywood gloss off of the genre.

  • Back when these John Wayne style movies were coming out, they were being used to pump people up about the war. Get people to join the army. If they showed the heroes getting killed and blown up in church steeples, not many people would want to help the war efforts. Saving Private Ryan was created in a period where the type of fighting portrayed is history. It's just good cinematography now.

  • The Big Red One (1979) with Lee Marvin was better than Saving Privtae Ryan.

  • no it wasnt, again, this was still part of the 'hero' era where no one swore and people died in that c**p "they got me jonny" kind of way.

  • SPR level language and gore would never have passed the censors of the time. You can hardly say this movie glorifies war either. This film is superior to Saving Private Ryan in every possible except realistic violence.

  • superior? Not in the slightest. But at the time i guess it was good. Its like comparing the great footballers of the 50s/60's to the footballers of today, they might of been great at the time, but against modern day players, theyd get their arses kicked.

  • Wow, fuck you lol.

  • you can't compare the two... while they are great movies featuring D-Day, they are entirely separate entities

  • Where can i get hold of a colour version i realy want it, this film is my second favourite after a Bridge too far

  • " follow the Lieutenant gentlemen."

  • It sounds like he´s singing :P

  • ;D-

  • probably the greatest collection of stars in one movie ever
