@ericmadis53 thanks mate :) and what do you think, are the Seymour Duncan Mh-3 mini hums better than the P90's for playing the blues? (with a little overdrive included too :P )
Hi Eric - nice lesson for beginners there, but I wish you'd shown the intro as well ! Thanks. Incidentally, it's great to see someone playing blues on a Gibson ES ! And it IS in tune, folks.......
Yes, I know. JamPlay (not me) posted that video with that title, just because I taught some Lightnin Hopkins licks in the lesson. I had nothing to do with that. HOWEVER, I do play the Lightnin Hopkins (western style blues with the monotonic bass), as well as the Piedmont style (with the alternating bass). Go to some of my live videos and you will see.
@sonicredline We tune our guitars regularly (with our tunes, an with octaves) for every video we do. That guitar is also in perfect working intonation.

@1337mas7er Neither that "dude", nor his guitar are out of tune. Not only is that "dude" a recording artist and instructor with National Guitar Workshop, Guitar Workshop Plus, etc. He was also a piano tuner and luthier (guitar repairman and builder) for years. So I think he knows how to tune a guitar. Jam Play has instructors retune for every single video, using octaves and a tuner.
I think when he says "I'll give you a minute to work on that, the viewer is supposed to be sharp enough to hit pause" and practice a bit. Duh, I don't think it would be better if he just sat there with the camera running for a minute do you?

robostomo1 2 years ago
Try putting extra light strings on your acoustic. You'll get a thinner tone but it will be easier to do this kind of stuff.

or get one of those things with the springs on them that builds finger strength
