@brittneydargusch21 Yes, that's fine if you are used to combining the flavors of pork and onion. I usually use onions with beef, and choose something like apples to go with pork.
i usually don't eat pork chops but after trying it with the gravy you made, was absolutely delicious. all the taste buds combined perfectly...i loved it.. thank you betty <3
I just made this dish tonite Thank you sooooooo much!!!!:) I'm not a cook @ all myb husband usual cook's he is greatful to you to cause i'm cooking OMH I cant believe it lol seriously ty so much & god bless you!
Okay I want to do this. I have a question. I will be searing them in the pan and transferring them to a glass baking dish. I plan on making about 3 pounds so I need a bigger dish. So at what point do I make the gravy? Also, would I cook these at the same temp and time if I use the glass baking dish? I hope you answer soon..I wanna make these tonight!!! I love instructions on how to do this!!!
@tooteyfrootey I would plan on adding 15 minutes or so to the baking time, but you can test them as they finish cooking to see if they are done. Make the gravy at the end from any drippings that are there.
wow! this was the best porkchop dinner ever! my porkchops were kinda small so i just cut the gravy recipe in half. but it turned out sooo good. i am never going back to plain porkchops and plain mashed potatos again. thank you! my boyfriend thanks you too. ;)
can a regular pan go into the oven? or does it have to be a specific type of pan, looks like yours is cast iron. just wondering if i have to go out and buy a new pan. this is a very good video! looking forward to making some gravy for once to go wih those pork chops. =)
How do you and Mr Rick stay so thin? Thanks so much for giving cooking lessons. I love your style. I am from Pensacola , Florida so I can relate to the Soutjren style cooking. I like the simple way you use verese the fancey books, such as Souhtren Living Some likeit South, they are too much. Thanks again you are a doll.
@kgstudent1 Thanks for your sweet comment! Rick and I constantly watch our weight! I eat anything I like, but I only allow myself small portions of anything that is fattening! If I'm really hungry, I eat a whole large apple before eating my small portion of fattening food!
This is a fantastic dish!!! I saw ur video and immediately started cooking! I just finished and my family LOVED it! Thx so much for sharing it with us! It was truely delicious. God bless!
Got me inspired to make some pork chops tonight. I'll probably skip the meat tenderizer and use a white wine and rosemary marinate for a few hours prior to cooking.
Also, have to watch your Red Cinnamon Apple video sometime. Those look interesting! Thanks Betty
That's great! Your marinade should make the pork chops very tender and tasty! I think you will enjoy the Red Cinnamon Apples with the pork chops! Thanks for your lovely comment!
No, you do not need to use peanut oil! You may use any vegetable oil, or even butter or margarine--any of them will be great! Thanks for your question!
betty you are hot, I want you.

do it have to be peanut oil? :)
honiebee22 11 months ago
@honiebee22 No, you may use any oil that you are comfortable frying with. I use peanut oil because of its high smoking temperature.

@BlinkinFirefly I used an iron skillet, but it does not have to be iron. It just has to be oven proof--no plastic handles, etc.
