  • left clumsily at the scene....

  • I think this is beautiful. I LOVE this. ^_^ My 18 year old brother showed me to tons of musicians. I owe it to him. :D If I didn't have my older brother I wouldn't know any good music!

  • Great song from the boss yet again. He puts into words what peoples lives are like.

  • "Your flag you flew so high..." is just an incredible and unexpected finish to the song that reminds of Springsteen's versatility and ability to surprise.

  • Magic is SO much better than ''Working On A Dream''

  • Of course it reminds you of Christmas! This is a mirror of "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town'!!! Remember when Boss did that?

  • @adamcole0261 Mind... Blown...

  • this song is mint, the intro always reminds me of Christmas. love the epic ending too

  • Comment removed

  • @jizzninja If this song makes you think of Christmas you've missed the point entirely. Rather perhaps the alarm bell at the beginning

is supposed to make one think of an Emergency...9-11.

  • Why "cheating"?

  • There is no proof of that! YET?

  • he was telling me he recorded with bruce springsteen but I didn't know he meant this new album. that's cool

  • sweet... my violin teacher played violin on this song.

  • My 2d favorite song from Magic after "Summer Clothes:" Very Beach Boys-like. Why didn't he do it on the tour? I think he only did it once.

  • i went to four shows on that tour, he played it every time lol

  • a great song from a great album, love the soaring ending...

  • Did anyone else think portions of the song sounded like "Girls in their Summer Clothes."

  • Yeah, I noticed that right away! Almost note for note.

  • Damn your good bruce! love this song:D Think i will come on your live show this summer in stockholm:P

  • i love it! rock on 4ever Bruce

  • fucking cracking tune

  • doest sound like at my most beautiful. Both are great songs and the boss and rem are both amazing artists.

  • very rufus wainwrightish. still good .

  • love the song. The Boss FTW

  • pity the sound quailty is so poor

  • Great song from THE BOSS

  • You are your own worst enemy, isn't that the old saying?

  • This sounds like a Christmas song.

  • he;s singing to people who voted for bush

  • Maybe it's been mentioned before but this song sounds EXTREMELY similar to R.E.M.'s song At My Most Beautiful. Surely i'm not the only to notice this. I still like this song though

  • Sounds nothing like At My Most beautiful glueyPorch

  • Obviously you dont have an ear for music.

  • More of an ear for music, than you. Music is my life, i have a great ear for it thank you very much.

  • It sounds like REM song

  • Thank you, finally somebody makes sense

  • I agree

  • beautiful song from Bruce with a hint of Warren Zevon type lyrics and a sprinkle of Brian Wilson influenced harmonies make this song shine right on through. And if you listen real close...this song might just be singing to you. So turn it up!

  • i'm not American but I love this song- Bruce rocks

  • Good news for you friend...you don't have to be American to love the boss, otherwise i'd be in trouble.

  • Love how he packaged all these tough criticisms in such poppy, upbeat music. Masterstroke.

  • my favorite on magic is eaither magic or long walk home..

  • agreed...just because the message is so amazing and true.

  • Now my favourite song from the Magic Album. Go the Boss!!! Anyone can explain the lyrics of the song??

  • Its about the loss of civil liberties in this country.

And the last line of the song is, in my opinion, one of the best lines ever written... "Your flag that flew so high, it difted into the sky"...so powerful.

  • thx tf. 'fingerprints left on file' means they can track you down I guess. Bush is not popular now but he did a good thing by removing Saddam Hussein. I had a Kurdish friend in London who lost all his family by a blatant genocidal act of Saddam. We as allies (Australian) may have caused problems in the middle east but if Muslims have too much power they will take over. 1000 mosques in the UK even though they represent only 2 % of the population, however, no churches in Saudi Arabia.

  • I used to believe this but you have to understand that it was not Bush who removed Saddam it was the American soldiers. Bush was is able to declare that the lives of these citizen soldiers is worth less than the death of this tyrant. After much thought on the issue I cannot understand why any government should ever be given this right to make these decisions (at least in regards to offensive wars). We dont have this right as individuals, so how can a collective body such as a govt?

  • Its called for the greater common good...majority rules. Soldiers take orders, they dont make them! I dont believe in our system or our leaders & its why I have never and will never vote. People that have jobs working for the public make more than twice as much as the public they claim to serve.

  • There is no such thing as the 'common good' and majority rules is the same as dictatorship, except that instead of tyranny of one you get tyranny of the many. ...Soldiers take order but they should not follow them if they are immoral!! ...Vote libertarian!

  • Its about oil! oil! oil! and peak oil very soon and the usa will hit Iran very soon, they have too, great song though Bruce.

  • you voted for bush or didn;t vote you aloud this goverment to get away with there criminal actions and you have to look in the mirror and see whos at fault

  • Unfortuneatley I voted for Bush and am ashamed (I wouldnt have voted for Kerry though...would have voted third party) but people need to realize that our civil liberties really first started to be eaten away under FDR and then slowly over the years things got worse and worse and Bush has just become, what I hope, is the last straw...doubt it though.

  • the BOSS is back...long live Bruce...we all love u...

also thanks to LED ZEPPELIN for producing the best songs over the years...god bless to all of u...

  • Great Song!!!!

  • ...when everything is falling down...your own worst enemy has come to town...huh...like a tower?

  • one of my favs on the album! thanks for posting all of the songs!!

  • i love this songg!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting!! This is my favorite on Magic (for now)!
