How did you make the edges glow?

At first thank you for posting a comment :)Do you mean the athmospere glowing? I used an iconsphere with an halo material. The iconsphere should be a little bigger then the surface uvsphere. Now you have to play with the settig Alpha.
Cool. That sounds much easier than playing with nodes.
