I think the concept is quite good and the sounds as well. The equalizing and timing could be better in a way, I think...

The U-He Zebra 2.5 soft synth can do sound very similar to the Virus theirs a sound bank by Adam Van Baker thats adds 128 Virus type sounds to it.

@markyrokz .... i wish there was, but to be honest, you can get many vst's that can come close or completely replicate these sounds. such as sylenth, nifm8, z3ta+, there's a lot. check em out

@xversacex completely replicate.... euhm no not even close. Just listen to a simple saw wave from the virus or from z3ta and sylenth, they already sound different. So do all the effects, the filters, the envelopes etc. Sure you can get great sounds out of them, but they don't sound like a virus or vice versa.

@overnationmusic go spend some time with instruments you're deciding to buy or not. youtube demos alone might turn you off or convince you buy something you don't need because somebody made it look crappy/cooler than it is

on MANY commercial hip hop track i cant find no soul. only commercial interest. so you see everybody thinks different. i hear trance sice over 15 yeas and i love it. good work :) i play my trance on the virus, too

When I listen to this track, all I hear are cheesy, cliched minor-key arpeggios and a bunch of trite trance conventions. I just don't think the genre has moved forward in 10 years.

Mid-90s psy-trance? Yeah, soul and originality. Anything since 2000? Old hat.

@aidanday listen to better trance thenm trance as a genre is pushing at the front of production technques ...find better trance and you will find this out.....other than that im sad to say i agree this sounds dated and does not show the twisted crazyness you can coax out of this synth, it jsut sounds a bit like only presets where used with very little thought. other than that its not a half bad track.

@sacredgeometry Thoughtful post. I personally think that Dubstep and Minimal (two genres I don't really care for) are doing the most interesting things with clever effects routings, gating, compression and with edgy synthesis techniques. I mean - I'll go to Beatport and try to give 5 contemporary trance tracks a chance...I have low expectations :-)

Sounds very good, the song is catchy. I'm wondering if the motif can do all the sounds without the need of the virus, maybe is more difficult cause it doesn't have all the synth nobs there, but is doable? what do you think?

I don't know but I'm reading the user manual. The Motif has a fantastic arppegiator but the Virus TI has 3 LFO and 3 OSC per voice and you can set up using Virus Control instead of the nobs,

@niniomenso Hola que tal, gracias por tu comment, el bassline, el drum kit, los pads y el cliché son sonidos del Motif, los sonidos ácidos y los acordes rítmicos son generados por el Virus. Los delays, reverbs, compresores del kick bass y la ecualización de cada canal es procesada a través de Logic. La grabación del sonido es realizada digitalmente a través de Firewire y USB en tiempo real y los syntes son controlados por MIDI. No uso loops ni instrumentos de software.
