Of all the versions I've ever heard, this is the most tender, sincere version I know of. It's a young, lonely, tired woman, rather than an older, more mature person waiting for heaven. As an immigrant, I can attest that sometimes I miss my home and my family. This song talks about that feeling of displacement, especially when things aren't working out for you.
