  • @ all my NE brethrens: What does the common ordinary Manipuri wants?...Independence or Development or repeal of AFSPA or something else.?...What is common man's view there?

  • too backward

  • Love to Imphal,May god bless this small east indian region....Love from France.....I know oneday this will also become like west indian cities Mumbai,Banglore

  • I think restriction of foreigners, Armed Forces Special Power Acts, etc will not encourage the people of Manipur and NE regions to trust Central government. We ll always see it as double standard and suppression of minority community. Central Gov has to treat the ppl of the region equally and respect. Just bocoz we have less say in Parliament , doesnt mean that they can throw draconian and colonial era rules and restriction for the region.

  • @bck70 Actually culturally, linguistically and religously the NE was part of the broader India if not often politically. Tibeto-Burmans are not confiened to the NE in India and many were and are mixed tibeto-burmans with Indo-Aryans especially the Assamese. Indo-Aryan-Tibeto-burmans exist across the Himalaya. The truth is that the NE is a frontier region, one of transition on all fronts and not a simplistic and very erronious view of complete seperation.

  • The video oviously shows that the central govt nor the state govt have No concern about the beautiful tiny state located in some corner of NE-India....

  • @chuongthang Thats true, Indian govt dont care much about NE. For that matter they dont care about souther states either, nor do they care about western states. Infact our central government doesnt care about anyone.

  • love imphal

    from mumbai.

  • Its beautiful but like middle age, even before that

  • Why is it not allowed for westerners visiting this place.. any idea ?

  • Because its a very sensitive place. historically, culturaly, its never a part of India. The whole territory of 45 millions Tibeto Burman race were never directly under the British or any foriegn rulers right from the time of Muslim rule.. And Manipur is the oldest civilization of the entire south east asia. Its has recorded history of 2000 yrs, in its own script. So the union of india does not allow foriegners to visit this region.

  • many thanks for your info.

I would like learning more about NorthEast india.

  • I wouldnt agree totally with Dub's idea of foreigners restriction in NE states. Main reason is due to separatist movements in these regions. Indian Central goverment believes foreigner might provide ideas and vision to these separatists.

  • Overall the region, mainly Manipur, is under tremendous pain and stress due to violence such as kidnapping, threats, rape, shoot outs, etc. Both the legal and illegal armed forces are not trusted by the people of Manipur. Innocent people are sandwiched between the armed forces, not having any rights to say or take action but believe in faith of everyday survival is all to luck.

  • hmmmh...

It seems Indian Central goverment has problems with christians considering them all as terrorists.

but what can be done ? ... christians are silly enough to jump in any conflict on earth now.

At least there just can be one woman for one man .. and instead of "Miss Manipur" and converting the whole world into an idiote place of media , we maybe should take care more about our families and privacy ;)

  • Meities are Hindus or followers of Sanamahi, very few are christian actually. It is the various Naga hill tribes people that are largely Christian. The government of India does not consider its 25 million christians as terrorists.

  • @Dubconferencedotorg......I guess you mean America and not Christians, when u mentioned 'but what can be done ? ... christians are silly enough to jump in any conflict on earth now.'.... Get the facts right bro...

    @Dhuidrom...Yum chat ning nge...Pu bi-o...More videos please..
