I know this is a year old but seriously, wow. First of all, NONE of the bosses in this game are "hard." Not that they're all easy, but most honestly are, and the more difficult ones are not eve all that challenging. Second, regarding the e-tank and screws in plug man's stage, you can literally just jump up there with the rush coil. No "difficult jumps" involved.
Yeah, all of this advice is pretty good with the exception of the killing yourself one. It pretty much contradicts the idea of viewing each of your deaths as a learning experience, as it will quickly lead to you viewing each of your deaths as one giant "Fuck, totally restart." Even if you get to the boss with 1 life, you still got to the boss and if you were playing the game properly you should remember how you got there so you can get back next time with more lives.
Anthony, the advice to kill yourself until game over if you die in a level is bullshit. The key to getting good at Megaman 9, and any Megaman game, is pattern memorization and practice. You should play through the level at any opportunity you get. All you lose from a game over is a mid-level checkpoint anyway, which should be extremely easy to get back if you practice.
I think you missed tip 4 where he basically said everything you did.
The tip about killing yourself, I assume, is for people who aren't confident enough to beat bosses with a minimal amount of lives. Getting to, say, Concrete Man, with 1 life is much more daunting than getting to him with 3, especially if you aren't too familiar with his attacks.
didn't learn anything, but this video does set you in the proper mindset of MM9. just don't expect to be able to beat it instantly. this is why I love retrogames so much: they actually force you to use more than just reflexes that I evolved playing Duck Hunt and Track and Field on the NES. they actually require strategy and memorization.
and I've seen that YTMND in the end about two years ago. seeing it again at the end of this video totally made my day.

so, to sum it up. Everything that made games good, that newer games just don't do.

They are making a Megaman 10, I read it while looking around Nintendo's official website. See for yourself.

dont forget to use your sub weapons.
the game is a lot deeper than jus run and gun and strategy... sub weapons are game changers in many situations
