@dbs493 I read that interview as well. Another point he made was that when he wrote that song he was in college, and he doesn't feel the same way he did back then. He wrote a lot of sad stuff in college, and although a lot of his music has a sad under tone he's past that point in his life and he wants to play stuff that he feels strongly about.

"never meant" is an american football song. this is Owen. its like shouting for an Embrace song at a Fugazi concert. just plain rude.

besides, he did record a beautiful version of never meant (as owen) and its on the owen/rutabega split EP.

I agree, live american football is nearly non-existant. This is close enough; I'm really glad to see this as this is probably the one song that has mae me feel the best and the worst I've ever felt in my life.

Hahaha. I'm pretty sure if you're listening to Owen or American Football it should be common knowledge. I don't understand the point of him writing that. Point of my post was that I enjoy American Footballs work a lot more compared to Owen and I can compare the bands to one another especially due to Mike doing this cover. Not trashing anyone or Owen so please I hope people don't flip out.
