Answer: Chimps do throw rocks as weapons. Now, primate tool use: Too many primatologists site tool use in apes as an almost "Divine Spark" sign of intelligence. Too limited. Many animals use tools. Hey, my poodle (deceased) picked up screwdrivers (in mouth) to open cabinets, swung hammers, and attempted to drive my car (legs too short)...managed to get the key into the ignition.
