The most amazing desplay of hand independence ive ever seen. Theres no way i could play this. it just too weird. but somehow it has a groove to it at the same time.
@tenorchops04 just interpret them as triplets on beats on and four with RLL sticking. In case you want a more technical explanation, two dotted sixteenths are the subdivision of a dotted eighth note. So you would just fit two dotted sixteenths in the space of the last dotted eighth note of each 4 over 3 rhythm. Either way they come out sounding like triplets.
@PhantomDrums917 I don't think there is any kind of pulse going on in there. Watch carefully. You'll notice, once the center gets good and ready, he starts playing quarter notes the guy next to him picks it up, and so on and so forth until it all comes together.
@jhs9412 Actually, I think you are right but perhaps someone off camera is cuing them into it? They all look up at roughly the same time? Maybe the instructor is giving them a visual cue off camera? Still way cool exercise. :)
Man, they sizzle! I really like how SCV's drumline has been evolving these past 6 years or so. I'm really intrigued by their original, unconventional style of warming up. True experimentalist in every sense of the word.

i have cheesy poofs, rcc '05 snare lick, about 5 audition packets, double beat, flammus, krackus, latin lover, martian mambo, electric wheelchair, bunco rules, 10 second lick, rcc morrispree, ditty, shopping spree, spanks, schlitz n giggles...n more to trade. anybody wanna?
Hey will someone trade me this? I've got electric wheelchair 2003, a bunch of cavies "green beats" stuff, cheezy poofs, ditty, and I think I have krackus somewhere PLEASE TRADE ME!!!
the fact that they give scv drummers time to hack before they start warm ups tells me they run this program very well. every single drummer has different things they need to do to warm up. hacking lets them do that.
All they're doing is hacking. Just warming up their hands. If you look at them all, they're all playing different thing and they all look like they are warming up. Then it goes to Flash Gordon which is hot a hell!
20 years ago...this was absolutely illegal to do in the lot on show day!
drksdofthmoon 1 month ago
is there anywhere you can get this music for free? (flash gordon, not the hacking)
