@Gioxtream Bad idea. Giving governments the power to control monetary policy would give them an even easier way to manipulate money to push their expensive programs. Governments would accommodate the value of the currency to their spending habits and not the other way around.

Naive... come on.. I was $30k in debt by the time I was 24. I don't blame that on the credit card company, they are out for a profit. It is the financial education that we are taught, either by media/government that has gotten us into this mess. If you can't afford it in 30 days.. DON'T GET IT! Pay your bill on time and no fee. The American Dream never included credit card debt. It did including Savings and living within your means so one could invest and buy a home. So the credit card is an illusion.

My credit card.. yes I'm using it to buy flight tickets. To buy other things I'm using CASH. I always have savings... just in case.

If you are legally old enough to have a credit card, apply and get one, then you should act responsibly to use one. That means reading or asking questions-and paying attention to any monthly changes on your bill that may get you in over your head. Buyer beware-credit cards and loans are a product companies are trying to sell you just like anything else.

Good adice. I used to sign people up for credit cards and do balance transfers so take it from me, READ THE FINE PRINT!! THINK OF CREDIT CARD COMPANY'S AS NOTHING MORE THAN LEGALISED LOAN SHARKS!!!

You got it! :) I'm 20, been working long hours during high school, trying to pay for my own schooling (parents aren't in a position to help), working 3 jobs at the moment this summer and I can pay off my own bills, yet I see people going out, spending dollars on dollars, buying things they don't need and they complain they can't pay their bills. I use my credit card every single time to buy things (unless it is like $2) and pay it off to earn cashback or points but I pay them off.

Hehe - I'm in the same situation as you (only 1 job though) and I pay off my credit card every month. I always make sure I have in bank what I owe to the credit company. great way to earn points! You posted 3 months ago but I had to relate :P lol
