Sorry but.... it's just TOO city, too many tall buildings, no character. Very bland, but bravo on getting alot of citizens though but it isn't all about getting loads of people. I have an Island called 'Livora Island' and it's got a very small population but loads of leisure activites and alot of tourists, beautiful holiday island. Some cities are more like towns, and are the source of farming, oil, water blah blah and I import/export to my major cities. x

@stasisnu18 Use large avenues to make an infrastructure and link small avenues to them, make sure there aren't too many junctions where they join the large avenues though as there will be lots of traffic lights and therefore congestion. You shouldn't be getting red traffic with only 500 000 especially with 20 bus lines. are the bus lines set out correctly? remember elites and execs wont use public transport as much as skilled/unskilled
@DJSyKoh oh wow!!! thanks for the tip, and now i see what happend; the buslines were using small busses :) i switched to double decker bus and everything is perfect now!! and now im building with big avenues, instead of only small ones, problem solved :D

Don't worry about cost because you can simply download the Kiwi Lime Bank Lite from XLnation(dot)net/xlex, it's quick and so very easy, free to download & to place in the game, gives you +500,000,000 cash if you don't mind cheating. I build the best right away, also use the 'expert' cheat in game 'options' otherwise you have to unlock them all... boring! :)

I don't know how are the apartments out there but here in Brazil we have all kinds of apartments... I made the mistake of spamming out skyscrapers and the boom in my original city turned into bust. balance your cities with suburbs surrounding the central city, don't overdo one area of business try to maintain self sufficiency. have different districts like Green/Industrial/Economic/Farming and that is how I learnt to play I know probably not the best tactic but worked ok for me!

@TSBA92 It is a somewhat worth while game but has a few bugs, crashes aren't as common as other games i've played and the visuals are stunning(note this is like solid lead to PCs, top of the line CPU, more than 4 gigs of ram, and a mid to high end video card is recommended)
Part of the game died though. online play is dead and is no longer available.
This is due to the game maker tiring to charge $10 a month to play an online mode that was not ready, thus few were willing to pay
@netook8 Not only that but when you play the game there is no ambience noise, like of traffic clutter and buildings working. The only thing you hear is the clicking and the music, this game is pretty much dead.
@netook8 about the crashes on win 64bit, I heard on xl forum, that the game can access only one kind of memory which is 2 gb, because of 32 bit game. so when this memory finishes up, the program hasn't enough memory to load the xy.dll file, and crashes.
the solution is to restart the game before the memory runs out

I think some of those cities could use a bit more style; I mean, I do it a lot on SC4 when I had it, but it just doesn't look as cool if it a grid resembles...

this game is a real disappointment. I mean the cities just end at the grid with no possibility of expansion (ie. simcity 4 region view)??? The game in general also looks more cartoony and less realistic than SC4. I guess we'll have to wait even longer for a true successor to SC4
It doesn't matter how much ram you have. Unless you've got a 5 GHz single core CPU, this game runs like ass.

@asson432 My mistake, I'm glad I managed to keep a cool head over this misunderstanding. It's just that I saw the words "American complex" and "most of the world hates you", and assumed it was about the United States. However, it is true that many people in the United States can be very arrogant, and think it's the best ever; and always will be. I used to think that way when I was younger, but I wisened up just nicely. Well, take care.

factories create undesirable areas, hindering the potential of any city. One of the cities did have factories, but lacked high class like elites

If you want to make a big city, you buy your manufacturing and factory tokens and sell office and high tech tokens.

No not at all, high tech is completely the opposite, they despise pollution and will not start up in polluted areas, loose their profit or go bankrupt.

note that the cities in this were built purely for size. My cities are more for show. with the memory leaks so bad I'm better off making beautiful cities. not these windows crashers

I think some of those cities could use a bit more style; I mean, I do it a lot on SC4 when I had it, but it just doesn't look as cool if it a grid resembles...
It must variation have! =) But na ja, this video shows some pretty BIG ASS cities. haha.

this game is a real disappointment. I mean the cities just end at the grid with no possibility of expansion (ie. simcity 4 region view)??? The game in general also looks more cartoony and less realistic than SC4. I guess we'll have to wait even longer for a true successor to SC4
