Wow, your Tenors really stand out, they aren't fuzzy on any notes. Here is a question, when I play high A on my Tenor Sax, it sounds airy, like too much air is playing. WHY? Thanks, you guys sound great.
First try a different horn, to see if it is a saxophone problem (leak, sticking pads, whatever). If it is not play around with your ambiature and consult a teacher...
Sure, the Saxophone Cartel would love to. Please check out the rest of the videos from this concert. My personal favourites are Key of J.B., Passacaglia and Crook.
It's called "Slap tongue"!:) There are mainly two different kinds with some variations. One is by "slapping" the tongue against the reed with the help of air breathing out. One is by sucking the reed like a plunger and rip it off. The silver bass is mine, which I bought from Tim Greene in New Orleans, the gold laquered one is owned by the IU school of music.
amazing!!!! all the "main" saxophones, (excluding the contrabass sax) all together! I play the Tenor myself. Keep on rocken guys!!

Hm. I think it is my mouthpiece (Yamaha 4c) , because it sounds fine on my Selmer Classic metal mouthpiece... Thanks for the response.
