Adobe Dreamweaver Tutorial - Starting Your First Website

i have windows 7 and and I use CS3; however I cannot do 2. step as you do. I select local root folder on my desktop which I created for it then I select the folder but I don't have choice button and I have only open and cancel button so i selected opened as i don't have another option it say there is no items match on search.... these are very basic steps i just don't have this button on my CS3 is there is a another way to do it. Thank you in advance.

@Nuclear793 it's good to pay but there are also "free hosting website" like orgfree and others =) youst google it and you'll find a tons of free web hostings or type on google orgfree and you will see the first one. But is better to pay if you need for "job" or ... because if you pay i think the space (gb) is unlimited. for free in orgfree is only 1,5 gb see ya!

The transition that happened from 1:42-1:43. You said "we're gonna go back to the dreamweaver." Then after clicking the dreamweaver, the way it restore the window is kinda different..

When creating a background image for a website, how do we make it so that the image fits on different computers with no problem. For example, a "coming soon" image is created for a site at a high resolution and on the CPU that the image was created in, it looks perfect. But on say a Mac with a lower res, the image doesn't fit on the browser. How do we prevent this from happening?

Yes you could, but you then will need to learn how to upload it to a host and learn how to use an FTP server

Hi, im using Dreamweaver CS4 and when ever i try to INSERT>IMAGE by its URL i get a broken image in Design view! Simply i copy the image url off my website and paste it in image url box and i get that broken image!! However when i preview on the browser the images appears to be fine! Ant idea what might be the problem???

Looking for some Help!

I have been in the page properties messing around in the links category, also I have been messing around in the behaviours panel but nothing I do seems to resolve my problem which is this, how do you have a link a different colour from the rest so a visitor to your site can easily identify which page they are on. I'm assuming that question is for me. My sites are made in Joomla but I use Dreamweaver to do some things in them. To publish to a browser you will need to upload your files to a server.

This was my first Dreamweaver tutorial and so I wasn't sure how effective it would be. This was mainly to test the waters. Since people are finding this useful, as soon as I find time, I will make more that build off the lessons I taught in this first video.

What sign are you referring to? The Welcome Screen as seen in my video or the small splash screen that first pops up when you load Dreamweaver? Also, you say nothing happens, do you mean it's locking up or crashing?
