twin turbo is better. it may be a few thousand dollars more but its worth it cuz u go from 505 hp to roughly 725 depending on how good the twin turbo is. but the viper srt10 is good but z06 is a lot better cuz its a lil cheaper and a lot faster and burns less gas then a v10 600hp monster
The viper has 510 hp, so it has 5 more than than the vette. But next years viper is going to have over 600 hp, and the corvette ss is going to be supercharged and should make around the same. CRAZY STUFF!

You can't compare the two... they are totally different cars. The C6 Z06 is a $72,000 car based on a $46,000 C6 platform. And the GT500 is a $42,000 car based on a $20,000 Mustang platform. The C6 Z06 has 505hp, while the GT500 has 500. The C6 platform handles much better than the Mustang, but horsepower per dollar, the GT500 wins.
You need to do the research, and not compare the two.

I've yet to see a STOCK GT-500 run low 12's as you claim. Yet, it's not uncommon for stock Z's to run MID 11's. What's the best time a GT-500 with slicks has run? A Z ran 10.85@129.5mph on DR's ONLY! No comparison.

As cool as the new GT500 is, it weighs over 800lbs. more than the Z06. That is a HUGE difference in weight. It would need a lot more than 500hp to compensate for the extra weight in a straight line, and that extra power would do little to compensate for the weight in the twisties. In the end it's an apples/oranges comparison since the mustang was never intended to compete at the same level as the much faster (in every way) Z06. I'd be happy to own the GT500, but my DREAM is to own a Z06.
No it doesn't, the Shelby traps ~116 MPH. The C6 Z06 traps 127 MPH. That's a HUGE difference, the Vette would put about 2 bus lengths on the GT500 through the 1/4 mile.

This arguing is retarded as crap, Z06 owns all, for now that is. There are even new, more convincing rumors of a blue devil to wax the new 600HP Viper, I can't wait, I figure it will be the Z06 package with a supercharger and a few other small upgrades!

twin turbo is better. it may be a few thousand dollars more but its worth it cuz u go from 505 hp to roughly 725 depending on how good the twin turbo is. but the viper srt10 is good but z06 is a lot better cuz its a lil cheaper and a lot faster and burns less gas then a v10 600hp monster

The viper has 510 hp, so it has 5 more than than the vette. But next years viper is going to have over 600 hp, and the corvette ss is going to be supercharged and should make around the same. CRAZY STUFF!

You can't compare the two... they are totally different cars. The C6 Z06 is a $72,000 car based on a $46,000 C6 platform. And the GT500 is a $42,000 car based on a $20,000 Mustang platform. The C6 Z06 has 505hp, while the GT500 has 500. The C6 platform handles much better than the Mustang, but horsepower per dollar, the GT500 wins.
You need to do the research, and not compare the two.

yeah but the corvette is 3100 pounds and can rev to 7000rpms while GT500 weighs like 3800lbs and only can rev to 6000rpms also note the GT500 needs a supercharger to give it that power Z06 all MOTOR!!!

no comparision....both 500hp...500-505...very comparable. GT-500 will do very low 12s/12 flat & the vette will do very HIGH 11's and for the comment above it wont own most anything...any mid 11 car will beat it...

I've yet to see a STOCK GT-500 run low 12's as you claim. Yet, it's not uncommon for stock Z's to run MID 11's. What's the best time a GT-500 with slicks has run? A Z ran 10.85@129.5mph on DR's ONLY! No comparison.

the new gt 500 is 450hp. and as much as i love stangs, that new z06 packs 505hp, but its also lik 10 grand more then the gt500, put 5000 in pullyies and other modds on the stang n u have a faster car then the vette n 5grand in ur pocket....

As cool as the new GT500 is, it weighs over 800lbs. more than the Z06. That is a HUGE difference in weight. It would need a lot more than 500hp to compensate for the extra weight in a straight line, and that extra power would do little to compensate for the weight in the twisties. In the end it's an apples/oranges comparison since the mustang was never intended to compete at the same level as the much faster (in every way) Z06. I'd be happy to own the GT500, but my DREAM is to own a Z06.

No it doesn't, the Shelby traps ~116 MPH. The C6 Z06 traps 127 MPH. That's a HUGE difference, the Vette would put about 2 bus lengths on the GT500 through the 1/4 mile.
