  • Yeah, bad pups and bad playing won't be helped by a sim for sure. But great sounding pups does sound noticeably better, as well as the playing. I agree with about mics, but I'd add placement with a mic is just if not more key. Good video, btw. Oh, What sim are you using?

  • I've been using the Roland VG-88 and VG-99 for years.

  • Doesn't playing through an Amp Sim kills the tone of a guitar? It does on mine. Nothing like a real amp to a microphone. (don't get me wrong, I like amp sims, but just not to evaluate a guitar)

  • Depends on the quality of the Amp Sim! Bad Sims kill tone, great Sims improve tone! Being a great player helps! A Amp Sim is only going to be as good as the input. With a poorly designed input, you lose your tone on the front end, and there is no way to get that quality back later. You could have the best amp and guitar, but a crappy mic will kill the sound as well.

  • Nice website and nice sounding videos.

  • THANKS!!

  • This was done with an amp sim. I don't recall the settings. I actually do not own an amplifier!
