Accepting a kid for being gay isn't letting them 'do whatever', so they'll probably grow up to be fine and much less of a menace than some unhappy and repressed closeted kid, if the closeted kid is alive at all. Being gay is not about "how you have sex" is about being "emotionally" attracted to someone of the same sex, for bisexuals: to both sexes. in the same way that heterosexuals are attracted to the opposite sex, that attraction can manifest in "sexual intercourse", the same goes for gay, bisexual people... Well you can't use the "it's not natural" argument because there are lots of horrible things that are natural: diseases, earthquakes, crabgrass. You can't use nature as a moral compass. And homosexuality is perfectly fine because it falls under the "consenting adults" principle. Think about it this way: if consent makes it's OK for 2 same-sex adults to get into a ring and physically brutalize each other, how is it not OK for 2 same-sex adults to get into bed and physically pleasure each other?

I can understand (although I disagree with) people who oppose gay marriage. The word "marriage" has religious connotations, and I understand why people oppose gay marriage on religious grounds.

However, ALL Americans should be willing to support Civil Unions. The government is not allowed to discriminate against its citizens, and because "marriage" has LEGAL connotations, the government cannot deny gay couples the legal rights of married heterosexual couples.
