  • What song is that at the beginning of the video?

  • What kind of cymbal stands are those?

  • @dww0902 Axis. They are prototypes and are excellent, as are their pedals and hi hat stands.

  • I have the same Fellcobination how is the tuning ? (Bottom/Batter)

  • @TheNewChadSmith

Hello, I attempt to tune each drum, and each side, to sound as natural as possible. Not too tight (too many overtones), and not too loose (dead/no overtones). Then flip it over and do the same. I'm trying to the best of my ability to find the "sweet spot" of each drum head, on each side, of each drum. I hope this helps.

  • looks like a 14x5 black beauty snare?

  • are they the original hoops on the 1973 Ludwigs?

  • @Azaan1016

Yes, everything (save for the heads) is 100% original

  • @sadiethebaglady

I like the Legacy the best, then the 73 Luddies, then the Slingys. All of them sound great though. Thanks very much for posting the video.

  • Nice what kind of heads are you using on the 73 ludwigs?

  • @Azaan1016

    See comment below

  • '73 luddys for my ears. I love that you used sm57's too.

  • The 1973 Ludwigs first floor Tom is beautiful.

  • @ilovetruthdrumzzz YESSSSS !

  • Very nice. Thanks for posting this! Are all three of those kits 26" kick, 14" rack, 16" & 18" floors? That Black Beauty sounds great, as always.

  • @drulius

    Hello,

All drum sizes are 14X24, 9X13, 16X16, 16X18. All batter side heads are Remo Emperor coated. All resonant side heads are Remo Ambassador coated.

    Thanks for the kind words!

  • They all sound very similar

  • thanks so much for making this video! i think the vintage kit sounds the best. the legacy actually sounds most like the slings. all amazing though.

i'd love for someone to make a video like this but vintage 3-ply vs. modern shell (vintage vs classic maple).

  • Love the kick sound on the first set and the toms on the second.

  • great comparision!old luddy sounds best(fortunately I owe one:)

  • What kind of heads are you using? Tuning?
