I think Lestat is suppose to be blonde too. And i think Marius was also blonde. I have the book the vampire Armand and if i remember correctly Marius is blonde. not possitive about Lestat it been a while since i read interview with the vampire. never got to finish the vampire Lestat or the queen of the damned. Stuert townsend is the best lestat. He is really hot and the temperment is right too.
Antonio Banderas was a hot Armand but the blondie is how armand was supposed to look he was about 17 when he was turned then again Armand nearly died and they dont look the same after they return from 'dying' again. Says so in the book. Thats why he didnt recognize Marius or something like that

I love Matthew Newton as Armand. Queen of the Damned was not a very good movie, but I think that he suited the part of Armand. If he had been the one playing in Interview I think that would have made it even better, but I didn't get a very good idea of Newton's acting from just the bits shown in Queen.
Armand is 17 actually... turned in 1499, making his birth year 1482. Though, I still stand by the fact that IF they were going to make The Vampire Armand into a movie, Antonio Banderas would be well suited to the role of Santino.
I agree with you that Banderas would be good for Santino. He got Armand's character down, but he didn't fit the physical role of the character and that tends to bother me a little.

but when I first noticed the audio preview I was just typing all kinds of things to hear, I believe I typed my name about 10 times...
I was saying that to my sister (about Claudia, not the audio thing), when we were watching videos for it. I basically screamed "Claudia's meant to be FIIIIIVE!" in her ear.

it irritates me that in both films, neither of them look like armand is supposed to look.
armand :
1) auburn hair. not black, not blonde, AUBURN.
2) brown eyes.
3)about 17.
both sexy as hell though :)

I prefer Antonio Banderas as Armand and have always, that actor in Queen of the Damned was horrible as was the film itself.

But I know according to the book Armand should be beautifully young,with a boy-like appearance, long, curly auburn hair and dark brown eyes....
and Antonio looks like he should be older and he isn't cute or anything and has a serious kind of look...
