No filtration process can remove much sodium fluoride from water, regardless of their claims. Even distillation can only remove 20% of it, because the fluorine molecule has only one atom more than water.

"it has been consistently documented that reverse osmosis systems and distillation units remove significant amounts of fluoride from the water supply"
"The fluoride molecule is smaller than the water molecule... Reverse osmosis, however, will remove 80 to 90% of the fluoride."
"RO removes most of the flouride when you use most common RO membranes and assuming it is a fresh RO membrane and not a old filter. Estimated at 90% removal of fluoride for common home RO systems."
Water passes through/over the soil/rock containing fluoride. It dissolves these compounds, resulting in the small amounts of soluble fluoride present in virtually all water sources.
So, unless your having your "Spring Water" thoroughly tested...
We shouldn't trust/rely on manufactures' labels from bottle to bottle. Do U have full faith in what a water bottler tells you?
how much can u buy ro system for at a reasonable affordable price? i only take home £13,000 per annum after tax. i dnt want to be paying near the £1000 for one. also how effective are the berkey system filters?
@hamid954 Yes..It can remove particles and compounds smaller than water molecules, including fluoride. The process takes out as much as 90 percent of fluoride in drinking water Compounds such as fluoride that are bigger than water molecules become trapped
Water filtered with an osmosis device is NOT distilled water. It still has the necessary minerals in it so that it will not rob your body of minerals like distilled water. The system he is describing is a mini home version of the same filtration device used by bottled water companies (come on, did you really think they go dip bottles in a little mountain spring? HELLO!)
The tap water in OK is fluoridated. This is a lot of wasted money going down the drain! (How does bathing, washing clothes, & watering lawns with fluoridated water prevent cavities?!)
If you live in southern OK, have you noticed lately that the tap water has a stronger chlorine smell?
The reason i drink bottled water is becuase of the FLOURIDE water and that stuff is horrid its in rat poison, hitler used it to brainwash his troops/[ppl... its full of cholrine and all sorts of stuff that dries my skin in the shower makes me hair all fuzzy..i dont even see the tap water fit to wash my behind, screw tap water. Bottled water is the way to go, reversed osmosis, ultraviolate, micron filtration, ozinated etc..i drink that not colrine and flouride(rat poison)..
Reverse osmosis works by pressing water through a molecular sieve made by layers of porous materials, in case you wanted to know what he was talking about.
I'm not sure though, if everyone installed one of those in their house. Turned it on at the same time, used a glass. Everyone then used tap water to wash the glass, alongside some soap. Changed filters every 6 months, it's still quite polluting and costly.
I drink distilled water, laboratory grade I believe because I once opened my tap.
NEVER DO THAT!! PLEASE LISTEN TO ME IM NOT A SCIENTIST ECT. BUT I KNOW THAT U SHUD NEVER DRINK THAT IT MESSES WITH SOMETHING IN YOUR BODY... it is not drinkable DISTILLED WATER'S PURPOSE is for machinery not drinking...the reason distilled is for machines is becuase it wont clog the mechanisims... cuz all water has something i duno what but distilled is only FOR MACHINES drink enough Distilled and u will DIE.
Distilled water is fine lol!! u think if u drink water that u boiled for 2 mins its gunna kill you???lol you get enough minerals in your diet not to need minerals in youre water. WATER IS WATER.I DRINK TAP WATER ALL THE TIME :) its alot healthier than drinking plastic molecules
That is not the whole story. Studies in both animals and humans have shown that the body is able to absorb minerals *much* more efficiently through water than it can through solids. There have been numerous controlled experiments which prove this. So, basically, if one doesn't get minerals in liquid form, one could become mineral deficient. Not only that, but distilled water intake also encourages the rapid excretion of salts and potassium to higher degree than if regular water was ingested.
thank you for making a video about Reverse Osmosis. so far your the first ive come across to describe the system and inform the public about this problem we have. i have a carbon filter but i think id rather have the R.O
Although this video presents a biased unscientific argument, and is basically an advertisement, I completely agree and it is in all likely hood true. Except for the device having no maintenance. I think you are going to want to have that checked and cleaned at least every 6 months.
You Are Correct. The 3 Carbon Filters & Pre-Filter once a year (city water supply). The osmosis membrane 3 to 4 years (maybe more).
BTW: Not an advertisement. I don't sell these things. I just believe this is a better way. Although the video may come off as an advertisement.. it isn't. You may say it is a hard sell for people to get rid of tons of plastic bottles and start reusing what they already have in their cupboards.

Many, such as myself, live in a radon belt+gas fracking areas. Just because it's "Spring Water" doesn't always mean it's safe to drink.

I recommend the readers do a 'Google search' and make their own determinations
Copy/Paste The FOLLOWING Search Terms:
I've found a rather thorough discussion at "cyber-nook" by searching..

is it bad to drink RO water since it has no mineral?
blueboar1986 3 years ago
You can receive all the minerals you need from dairy products, fish, cereal, vegetables, etc.
Water should be for hydration and purification of the cells not a sweet or flavorful, vitamin enriched snack!
Google..
