  • This dude, had a problem with integrity, as great as he was. He beat the hell out of a patron in a bar, which forced him to retire from the sport. He almost killed the guy. He claims he was drunk, but that is a BS excuse. you have to be in control and responsible for your actions. He claimed he was injured, and did not participate in a Sumo charity event, and then was filmed playing football at the time he claimed he was injured. The sumo association was not amused. He is no Chiyonofuji!

  • To Sumo association: SEE HIS EMOTIONS, SKILLS, STRENGTH. That's how you earn the LOVE of people to SUMO. Who would see your classic sumo without any competition emotionally. Only people older than their fifties, in their retirement.

    Feel sorry for you !

  • 2:16 What a machine!!!! Great video mate

  • Que fuerza tan endemoniada que tiene Asashoryu

  • yes , Muhammad Ali of Sumo

  • Places that great kings haven't reach.

Mongolian Warrior that alone in alien country.

inspires all sports man. simply the best wrestler that made boring sumo into action packed sport in the world stage.

  • ASASHORYUUUUU IS THE BEST

  • what happened at 4.14? did his opponent concede the bout?

  • balance, strength, controlled agression, technique

  • simply best!!!

  • Muhhame Ali of Sumo

  • Bring this man back...!

  • @moozzii people are saying alot of his matches were fixed for gambling money, because of the yakuza.

  • @5tonyvvvv

But how is that logical? He still has to do his best in the ring. Was it his opponents who were fixed? I mean from my stand point, if your opponent does not want to lose he will not or at least put up a fight. I mean if he lost on purpose that would be him taking a dive and can be controlled. Him winning match after match against others, how is that considered fixed matches? Was he taking steroids or anything illegal to win?

  • @Jerrid3 I dont know man , its what i heard, they make the matches look real, but some are fixed

  • @5tonyvvvv

Right and I have heard the same thing. But if they are fixed, wouldn't both Asa and all his opponents involved that lost be thrown out of the sport or asked to leave? I am just saying...

  • @Jerrid3 lol. You dont know much about organized crime, they threaten the other guys life and family!! and the judges! Money controls the world! Nobody cares man!

  • @5tonyvvvv

Noooo... I understand how some one can take a dive. But how do you keep some one winning and then blame him for winning? Wouldn't the guys purposely losing be the ones getting in trouble? Thus they were doing what the other guys were wanting.

  • @Jerrid3 I Don't know man, its what I heard from a few japanese people. The Yakuza are still in japan, they control land, gambling prostitution, and drugs! but anything can be done for money and power, They wouldn't get in trouble if they are be threatened by the Yukuza! Would You tell if you had a gun or Knife against your throat?

  • @5tonyvvvv

Maybe I am misunderstanding the situation. If Asa was part of the Yakuza and thus Yakuza was threatening everyone else to lose that would be one thing. But if you are telling me that the matches were fixed and Asa had nothing to do with it, that would mean it was the other wrestler's fault, not Asa. That is like saying Tiger Woods only won because the Yakuza threatened all other golfers to lose. But you would not kick Woods off the team, because of the others not giving 100%.

  • Yes, Kotooshu and Baruto matches were recently higly praised for extraordinary technique of Asashoryu. It should be reminded, that his score against Yokozuna Hakuho is not on a winning side. Hakuho will probably be pretty high on the all time charts when he retires, but only because the only guy who could really opose him was Asashoryu.

  • @camylarde Hakuho entered into sumo, rose through ranks and become better Yokozuna when Asashoryu was dominating all the way. Plus he shared 12 bashos of leadership as leader with Asashoryu. On the other hand Asashoryu started 26 bashos (in 4 and half year) as a lone Yokozuna with nowhere near opposition as he presented showed to Hakuho
