the point is more that she and Diana were related, and Di was in fact a descendant of Georgiana (which is sort of important to the storyline, given Georgiana's dilemma and her ultimate decision).

obviously not the fault of the actors but a case of bad taste on behalf of the people in charge but im not sure many people are going to take to the whole diana comparison very kindly. gross misjudgement marketing it like that...and i like keira knightley.
