for me personally the focus RS should of been 4WD from the get go with at least 350bhp to compensate the extra weight of a 4WD system over a FWD one, after all it comes from a rally born division, even though the revo knuckle is no doubt fantastic it shouldnt be FWD, its true that these cars would of then became more expensive in turn but there are so many ford RS enthusiast's that i think it would have little effect to be honest, it looks like a rally monster therefore should be set up like one

I drove both of these cars and in the end I bought the Megane rs, it just made more sense as a day-to-day car and to be honest I felt a bit stupid sat in the Focus!

Best cars IMO = provide the best possible power to weight ratio & chassis for good handling in corners/bends

So I’d take Megane 250 over Focus RS

However I'd take any standard Focus model over any standard Megane.

I find Ford have produce better performing and handling standard cars to Renault

Ford must have felt due to their Focuus domination the Megane on standard cars that perhaps Renault were going to produce nuts Megane so they had to go even crazier with 300bhp FWD

The escort cosworth is 15k a completely standard sierra rs500 cosworth on ebay at the moment is 35k ive never known a shitty French piece of garbage hold it's value so well. Also havn't you noticed most French car owners are normally unsatisfied with their cars. No wonder they are always near the bottom on the customer satisfaction ratings. The fact of the matter is ford often come first and the focus RS is faster.

Wait for the new focus RS coming out with the 4WD system. This focus RS is already deemed better than a subaru imprezza STI! The renault is so low budge compared with the focus. It has lost against the focus, is less rated than the focus, will depreciate quicker than the focus and to be honest even if the renault was 10 times faster I still wouldn't want it i've been blessed with an eye site!

@Englandforever91 it is a better sports car you, as far as performance is concerned. it might well be all of those things that you said, and i would have a focus rs over it too, but thats isnt what im arguing. the fact is actually, that the renault clio is best hot hatch you can buy. if u watch videos of the FRS, it rolls and oversteers all the time which prevents you from getting a good clean lap time. the renaults dont, they track properly and just grip.

I've driven both, road and track, and....on the track, the standard megane was slower than the focus, but the cup version was actually, believe it or not, almost identical, in fact, round Silverstone, was a bit quicker than the Ford, I know what I'm buying next anyway, plus, the megane is more satisfying more of the time on open public roads

But adding passengers and even luggage can equate to HEAVY additonal weight..

What point of additonal weight is the scale tipped and the cars performance drops?

Which can handle weight?
