  • Inspiring speech from the President. Congratulations!

  • Very inspirational

  • I want to be Elaine!!!

  • LMAOO guy it texting in back of the girl

  • Awesome.

  • Obama did a much better job back then now...hear his speech in 09 and 10...a little bit structureless comparing with this one at NU.

  • @schnappie2 To be fair, as a President he makes a speech nearly once a day, whereas then it was few and far between.

  • "i have to be better than john mccain..." and guess waht happens a few years later....

  • Great speach Mr. President. You call the true 2006 and now you keep your promise to solve this problems you talked about.

Keep up your good work. God bles you.

  • Precedent Obama!!!

  • gogogo i graduated today!!! 2008 master degree all the way!

  • 11:00 hooot guy!!

  • American leaders and lawmakers should learn from the writings and proceedings of the American Anti-imperialist League. The USA has not been given any mission from god to carry the so called "white man's burden". The USA should stop policing the world and should stop invading other countries for economic and expansionist reasons. That is the only way to maintain peace in the world today.

  • Wow I never knew he came to NU. 06 grads r so lucky. Still, class of 2012 all the way!

  • Very lucky.

  • funny how the year before john mccain was the speaker..

  • I know right. What a coincident... Or was it? :P

Looking forward to my turn in 2010!!!

  • i was here for my brother's graduation. i did not think that i was looking at America's next President =)

  • I did. I thought the feeling was palpable. I wonder how many others felt it too. There could of been no better speaker on that day, at that graduation.

  • What an honor this was, what an honor this will always be. Thank you, Mr. Obama, for your commencement gift to the class of '06.

  • I graduated in '06 and was at this commencement.. I was in awe after this speech, as I think many in audience were. Oh, and I voted for him for president (and senate in '04)!

  • Thank you for this video! We were there, but so far back that technically we were in Skokie. It is wonderful to see the speakers up close, and the expressions on graduates' faces as Senator Obama quotes scripture on the setting aside of childish things bring back the emotion of that milestone day. Continued best wishes Class of '06!

  • You are a moron. Senator Obama is speaking, not Bill Ayers. Senator Obama was only 8 years old when Bill Ayers was an active member of Weather Underground. Bill Ayers is currently a professor at the University of ILlinois at CHicago, not Northwestern University. And Bill Ayers probably contributes more to society than you ever will. You simply feed on the bull that the GOP is putting out there right now. GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT. ALSO, VISIT NU before commenting on it.

  • I have met both of them, and I can honestly say that right now they are decent, law-abiding citizens. Professor Dohrn has dedicated her life to helping children in the juvenile court system in Chicago and to upholding international human rights standards. Ayers has made major reforms in early childhood education in chicago. What exactly do you do for a living? How can you claim he was aware of the group at the age of 8? Finally, what did obama do with Ayers and Dohrn?

  • WOW that was a really great speech. He speaks the truth obviously, and I wonder how they all felt. Really powerful stuff, advising them to go with the heart over the brain, don't just go out and get those high paid jobs that will make you rich but empty inside do something that you are passionate about that might not pay well at first but will make you richer inside and make a differnce in the world! Where are they know I hope helping Obama 08 in his campaign!!

  • Go NU!!!
