I lived in AK..it is the most beautiful state I have been to! Summers usually are from June to end of August and the temps are perfect not too hot nor too cold.(avg is 65-70)..plenty to do there in summer and if you like winter sports winter usually starts around the end of Oct or a little later and snow melts around end of April in some parts , but in June this year there was still plenty of snow as we headed to Valdez...love it there...and hoping to move back one day!

Where is this shot from? I was there in 1993. It sounds as if you're on the top floor of a hotel I may have stayed at that had a bar/restuarant in it called "Top of the World". It had an outdoor balcony & you could see the top of Mt. McKinley from over 100 miles away...I think that's the mountain?

It's amazing how the mountains just surround the city .... truly breath taking .. My mom lived there for about 8 years of her life growing up and she has great memories of Anchorage ... I'm definitley gonna visit the town one of these days...

Summers in Anchorage are the best I've found anywhere. I've lived around the world and I love it here after 30 years. Temps are from the 60's to the high 80's, although that is rare. It starts getting cooler in August. If you like it hot, you will feel cold here, especially when the wind blows.

You cant see them from the vantage point this video is shot from, but if you look real close you can just make out the scum that lives at street level in Anchorage, or Alaska for that matter. Yes here it is in all it's splendor, the "Alabama of the North." Don't get me wrong- it's a beatiful place, it's just a shame it's inhabitants are so white trash.
