it is the car i learned to drive. my parents gave my that same model when i was 16 and i was crazy about it really love the sound. I'd really like to get à z34 5 speed. And yeah it has a very huge trunk...
well then, I have a 91 lumina with a 3.1 but its a base no rust very nice but very loud, Love all of peppy ness just wish i had more than a gas gauge and a fuel gauge lol
lol, nice. For a car like that, thats not half bad. I got the 1993 3.4L (I believe) V6 4 door. I can own some of my friends with 100hp civics and all the fancy bumpers and exhaust. I just have a semi-stock rusty Lumina family car. It's kinda funny.
You didn't know that? I had a 1992 Lumina with the 3.1 and the 3-speed auto. 1st took me to 40, 2nd to 80, and 3rd to top speed, lol. Fuel economy isn't as good as a 4-speed with overdrive, but it gets the job done. Check out my vid in my profile, my Lumina was NOTICEABLY quicker than this one.
oh yeah, in the rustbelt of southern ontario. if you drive a vehicle for 8-10 years through the winters, they are junk by then, the rust is so intense. even if you wash, wax, oil, and do everything, it's not enough to keep a car safe. i've often wondered what it would be like to do a IIHS crash test on a 5-10 year old Canadian rust-mobile would turn out like!
Well, when I was 4, I was in a 96 Chevy Lumina facelift, and, even though my mother was in the car driving (who died in the crash, unfortunately), I was in the center seat and...I survived it. NC 98, going 65, head on with a Ford towtruck. Oddly enough, the other driver lived as well.
LOL I love these cars the 90's W-bodys are the best. Parts for them are dirt cheep and they last for ever. I got a 93 Grand Prix my self with 178K miles with the 3.1L
Hell ya! Now thats power Miss my 90 euro. Not too many people can brag about their 90's 4-door without adding 3 cases of beer, push mower and a live goat in the back seat. They make good deer ammo forget the gun and mine tottaled a ranger last fall only lost the grill. Last of the american tanks. Bought mine sitting in a feild for 9 years for a case of stoneys and pace of palmals LMAO Didnt like the 28.99 tranny mount +874 .00 to install so its gone. oh well bought a feild probe for a ride.
Im still looking for my 90 lumina i traded in over 4 years ago.Its hard as hell to find a car, even with the vin number.Ive gotten another(92) but nothings as solid as my first one.I LOVE LUMINA'S (90-93)
If it's a '93 Lumina, you'll get the older LHO 3.1L, not the "3100" L82. The LHO is rated for 140 hp and 180 tq, while the 3100 is rated for 160 hp and 185 tq. The LHO's have good low end power, but they starve for air up high and really fall on their face. I raced a '94 Grand Prix Special Edition with a lightly modded 3100 and held him until about 40-50 mph, where he began to pull on me. The LHO is a torquey engine for sure, but horsepower is rather pathetic for the size of car it's in.
hmmm, even though you had a full car, I'll still say that mine is quite a bit snappier on acceleration. Mine is a base model 3.1, but I keep it really light.
lol well i had a 24 of beer 3 coolers with ice and stuff 4 bags of camping gear a tent, my school work, the sub-box and subs with amp all in the back plus the back seats full, and a full tank of gas! you know how these lumina's have a huge trunk! i could have had a smart car in there too:P anyways i figure i had around 200-500lbs in it so yea it was slow!
I will try to make another video this weekend when its empty. im not taking the subs out so im still gona have at least 70-100lbs we wil c
Yeah, well, if you want to see a fast acceleration for a Lumina, check out my vid (only one in my profile right now). I get 0-60 in around 8 seconds. That's Lumi power!!!
