I think the left really doesn't give Rand a fair shake, but in this case he had an opportunity to say something good (anti-fed, anti-bailout) about OWS but instead took the standard Republican route.

Rand isn't a hypocrite. The kids at wall street don't understand the difference between capitalism and corporatism. Corporatism and the FED are what is destroying the country. A lot of these kids want change but don't know exactly how to express what it is they are after. They really need a leader. They are angry because they know there isn't going to be a bright future for them if something isn't done. What scares me is the thought that maybe the ones causing trouble were planted there.

Oh the hypocrisy of Rand Paul...First, he mentions the protesters putting bricks through windows; Like Tea Party members did to several democratic reps office windows after passing the health care bill?

And I've heard Rand describe himself as a Libertarian, so why would he condemn any group of Americans gathering to express dissent? As long as the movement is not being propelled by government action, he should be standing up for the protesters. Just another Wall Street big money Republican.

Politicians involved in the education of our kids is disgustingly scary. Rand Paul is a hero, but I think he should push for getting Federal government out of education even more. No money, no rules, no nothing from the Fed. Let parents pay for and determine the education their child should receive. Don't give me that crap argument about how you can't afford educating your kid. Spend $50 a month on internet and make your kid get on a computer.  Problem of education solved.

OR maybe Rand Paul visited the ONLINE OFFICIAL CHAT ROOM--"#OCS" and read where Fourwindgoddess and grey wolf were talking about the 'glorious new world order' and allowing comments about forcibly taking over the White House, but blocking any dissenting chat. Maybe he listened to Chris Savvinides speech advocating "Austrian Economics" (see Austrian Economics and the Rise of Hitler) and Ludwig von Mises ('The Source of Hitler's Success).Or maybe he realizes that fear and anger don't lead to good.

I am disappointed with Ran Pauls opinion on Occupy wall street, and suggesting they are a mob , and that they will possibly pick up bricks, to loot businesses. @53muse I think his point is that only in America do people complaining about economic inequality get to make phone calls on the same two hundred dollar phone that the CEO's they apparently hate use.

Perhaps it's not indicative of ideological consistency to complain about corporate greed, and then have a moment of silence for the passing of the billionaire leader of the most capitalized company in the history of the planet.

@53muse...ofcourse they have the right to speak. the message is murky at best. i've heard several demand that their tuition be paid, as well as one group claiming that they can have sex with animals. many have no clue why they are participating. True AdBusters folks will not utilize products from the corporations they despise. They wouldnt be caught dead wearing Nike. If they are using their products, they are by definition, hypocritical. I'm actually shocked by the non-violence so far.
