Its not gross to eat grasshoppers. and not only asian people do it. Like I'm Cameroonian and people catch them and cook them in a pot. They taste amazing!
You are as cute as my kindergartners. Who, by the way, as part of one of their school activities, head out in the fields to collect grasshoppers which the school prepares for them to eat later. I did ask the boss about pesticides once... Hmm. I was not reassured by her response.
Priceless! Palpable... all of it. No need to speak the language at all for it to come across. I was amazed, though, that you ate more than one after your reaction to the first.
You're not only entertaining, you're a braver man than I am. Of course, you're a man and I'm not, too, but that's beside the point. Great video.
i wonder if grasshopper is a proper term. i would prefer locust cuz it sounds like kinda less gross although my english is not good enough to tell the difference.
btw, "ingao" are by no means ordirary grasshoppers. they live on rice paddies eating only rice grass. u know, in japan, anything associated with rice is sacred.
hahaha I just did the exact same thing yesterday and also uploaded a video on youtube. heh They're actually sweet...and I liked it, but the fact that I KNEW it was grasshopper...made me not..able..to..eat..more...
inago are just gross because they preserve them in soy sauce, try roasted or dried grashoppers. although from the look on your face you are probably not going to try any more. you are adorable by the way
I hear they are pretty good with chocolate. I wish I knew what you were saying but from your expressions I think you didn't like it. I think I would like to try one. Man for something you didn't like you have a lot of them. I said enough!

Haha, it's amazing that you ate that. Apparently emotions such as disgust are international, because you could tell that the grasshoppers didn't taste good in the least.
Oh is that so, it's a law? lol I love Japanese culture but there are some things that I just cannot get over. I guess its the same way with any culture though. Youre raised to not mind certain things...
I wish I could understand what you were saying. I am trying to learn japanese and I can only pick out the occasional word. So, why did you eat grasshoppers? You certainly didn't seem to enjoy it. ugh...

locust has been eaten all over the world not only in japan.
locusts contain high protein.Even Islamic and Jewish dietary laws, which prohibit the consumption of other insects, allow locusts to be eaten.

Hi, I am Japanese.
Grasshoppers are bizarre food for Japanese, eps younger generation, too :)
There is a reason why the people, esp in local area, had to eat grasshoppers.
Decades ago the people were starving, so grasshoppers were precious protein and calcium.
Believe or not, starving is a big social problem in Japan until 1950's.
I appreciate you trying to eat BIZARRE food in Japan and uploading on YouTube.

many westerners are supposed to be christian. no offense to christians but y so squeamish, y shocked at eating locusts?
"Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper"(Leviticus 11:22 NIV).
John the Baptist was known for eating locusts and wild honey (Matthew 3:4)(Mark 1:6).
