i have to add, you can lose a lot less, IF you are an experienced mech defender. layers of even 200 and 1 each wall with 100k archers will kill archer waves incredibly cheaply, heal and kill 2 with 200 layers lost only. and on mech, remove all but 2k every layer and build 1 each wall. with as little as 15k balis, 100 rams and 1500 pults, mechs fall. time your small reins, and watch your honor go insane

my best defense ive come up with is change the 3:1 ratio  war/ arch to 9:1:1 war/arch/ballista , if u keep as many ballista in ur city as archers , and 9 times as many wars, with full walls... ur going to kill anything anyone even thinks about hitting you with... in fact

if you pull it up on a calc... to even break threw all the layers and graze the ballista, youde have to be able to send 1.3 million phracts with 250k scouts all in 1 wave

otherwise ur untouchable.... ty :P

Attacks are easy to defend from, Mechs are probebly one of the simplest. Then there are scout bombs (my opionion is that these are second easyest) AND GUYS Please stop complaining that it is "reins" or "botting." about 50% of people bot on Evony. To be fair i think Proffesser has too much To loose if he started botting ect. So please take your complaints too someone other than Proffesser as he is doing these vids to help others out.

yes mech can be easy to defend, or atleast to lessen the blow,

you can make sure you have atleast 1 trap, and if the enemy are sending

and horses in the layering with the mech, make sure to add atleast 1 abatis.

That will greatly slow them down and lessen the blow by atleast 50%

The rest depends on what the enemy is sending with the mech, and what

kind of ratio the troops are at. could be pult heavy, bal heavy, some even make them

ram heavy,.. a bit of a waste if u ask me..

trap and abatis are the best on walls, it is the ONLY thing stopping

you from being killed in 1 hit but either a layered hit, or a horse hit.

If you have only 1 of each wall defense, what are you going to do vs

attack 1 : spam (kills 1 trap 1abatis couple layers) attack 2 : 65k cav 25k phract 10k sc?

Thats a VERY common attack, and you would be dead in 2 hits.

I have sent mech waves to clear cities, I follow it with a big phract smack.

You aregoing to lose any troops you have with one of the 2 waves.

I always follow with archers to clear walls when troops die so you can not heal.

Time about 5 scoutbombs in front to prevent a good hero loss.

I can kill more in 3 waves than the entire alliance attacking you did with 50+ waves.

One thing u forgot to mention as to y ur losses are so low. Ur defending hero was a lvl 350+ and the attking hero was like 50+. That makes a HUGE diff on losses.. If I attked u with the same wave and used a lvl 500+ hero sure u would still win the attk but ur losses would have been ALOT higher. So nxt time point out to the noobs to use a higher lvl Attk hero as mayor than the lvl of the attking hero!

reins do not show up in your rally point or barracks...

Those are real troops that are mine, you also missed the point of the video,

you can defend the same way, with almost no troops.

The amount of troops is not important, its the way you layer them, and your

they only appear in reports, or in embassy. Try it yourself.

reinforcements dont show in YOUR TROOPS listings in rally point, only your own troops show there, reinforcements are shown in the embassy, not your own rally point like in the vid.

Also, when reinforcements fight in a battle, they get their own little summary report down the bottom of the report, showing how many people reinforced, and what troops etc. You can see in the vid that is also not there.

The standard war army these days is atleast 5 million troops.. ask anyone in the top alliances on your server.

@Similararity you have to have the proper ratio of war or sword to archer. 3to1 warrior to arch. what happens is scoutbombs target what you have th mos resources in. so they then target the warriors instead of the archers. once you get so many archers that become unfeasable.

they attack like noobs. anybody who understand battle mechanics would try to take out your defenses by targeting a single layer at a time, also traps end up screwing you, try a compact defense, you want the attacks to begin when the enemy is in range of ALL your troops, ie, only have Rolling logs, and at's.

if they layered properly the would minimize their losses but significantly increasing your losses. just gotta know how to exploite the mechanics, make lemonade with the evony lemons. :)

Actually there is not any tactic in evony. Hero makes the difference always. It was easy to waste the enemy forces at 1:00 or 1:02 cause you have a lvl375 beast against the crappy heros of your enemy.

How would you defend against a 100k cavalry or cataphract attack? These units decimate archers at a sickening level. The only thing I can think of is to have your wall defenses with some abatis and hope your archer towers can take them down before they slaughter your archers. Correct?

You should have some pike as well. The best defense against a cav smack is to have heavy layers, and full walls with abitis.

Get the best hero in your city as possible to minimize damage.

to be honest the fact that your hero is level 370 plus and most of the people attacking have hero's that are less than a hundred also needs to be taken into account. Your defense value is nearly triple or even up to 7 times more than the people attacking you. i would like to see you defending with heros of similar value before even bothering with any of the tactics that you are providing. I appreciate the time that you have put in to showing us your tactics

An alliance mate the other day (and the rest of us) learned a valuable lesson on keeping those traps built while your walls are being spammed. We rein'd a city with 800k archers, guy spammed the walls, got rid of all traps and abatis, and 100k phracts wiped the entire rein in one hit.

This is a good defense but running a compact defense is way better no need to close gates on scout bombs because the scout dont target your archers a 100k archer rainbow wont kill much at all heavy layers are not need just swords and archers

The trick is manipulating the battle sequence,

infact 500mil was quite low for me at that stage lol

usually, id farm about 2 to 3bil, trade about half of it, for gold, and then buy wood and iron, to retrain the lost troops, leaving about 1 to 1.5 billion food gain, per day

Having cav (or phract) on defense (or offense) seem to cause your ENTIRE army to target units differently, almost always in the worst order.

Good question.

For offline defense, make sure you have alot of traps, you only need to have 1 trap for its benefit in battle, but 1 trap will only last 1 battle.. and its likely you are going to be under many attacks..

so i recommend about 2000 traps, and the rest towers. (maybe a few abatis)

For your armies, remove all your horses, dont even have 1.

You want mass archers (maybe 150k is reasonable, or more if your a bigger player)

And you want a small amount of rainbow -work,war,sc,pike,sword.

Because any army that has horses, targets units in a different order.

Yes having horses means you target the enemy horses first (then the enemy pike, then sword etc)

Thats very bad if the enemy has sent archers too, because it means the enemy archers get to shoot you for many more rounds.

What you want is for your armies to target the ranged units first. You do this by having no horses. Forcing your units to target the archers.

Try it out yourself, test the results ;)

lvl 10 walls are good to have, but every combination of wall defences, even for lvl 10 walls, can be taken out in 1 hit.

Most importantly is having atleast 1 trap, and having mass archers to defend with.
