  • I love that voice

  • Good job on your hard work with English. Some common things you can correct that I saw if you want to sound like native speaker.

    1. You pronounced your v's like b's. Very common with spanish speakers. For the V sound you have to but your top teeth on your lips and say it like you would a b sound.

    2. Another common spanish thing is the pause with "ehh". If you want to sound American, its an "uhh" sound. Its the same sound as the u in hummingbird.

    3. Adding e's before s words. Spain not Eh spain

  • English is one of the EASIEST LANGUAGES to learn in the world! Only Americans ever make the comment that English is hard to learn. It's b/c Americans only speak one language while the rest of the world speaks their language AND English.

  • You speak English quite well. A derivative of German, it's a very difficult language.

  • You sound like an Irish ;) x good luck on your tests and I might see you soon when I come to Spain for a while :)

  • Your accent is great, don't lose it. Never will lose mine it is a way to distinguishyourself from other people. Even though i'm an American student, I will never lose my spaniard accent, i'm from Sevilla. Well met kinsman.

  • i just noticed spanish and filipino accent sounds alike

  • Tienes que practicar mucho! Deberias aprender la diferencia de "b" y "v" en ingles y de "th" and "d" y tienes que pronunciar palabra entera. Me he dado cuenta que muchas espanolas no pronuncian el final de las palabras.

  • You sound spanish, it's very very hard to loose your native accent but possible if you try hard enough! Yo puedo ayudarte con ingles si tu necesitas. Mi espanol no esta perfecto pero yo puedo entender mucho y es posible que puedo traducir cosas, o ayudarte con el accento. :)

  • you sound very spanish, but it is very easy to understand you so thats good.its very hard the english accent,my gran was spanish and she lived here in england for almost 50 years, but still sounded spanish so unfortunatly, due to the way spanish is spoken it is far too different from english plus we have alot more vowel sounds then in spanish, all you can do is be the best you can be.

  • yo tengo mucho tiempo viviendo en USA y la mejor recomendacion es practica.

pero hay un porcentaje en nuestro acento que nunca se nos va!!!! y que bueno porque es nuestra cultura.. saludos, donde vives? te pudiera ayudar

  • Good. There are a few mistakes, however. You've probably learnt from them already, but they're here if anyone's interested:

    "Accent" is pronounced "aksent"

"Greetings" is pronounced "gritings" (if you think of the first i as a Spanish sounding one)

I can't remember the others right now, but keep up the good work. :)

  • TO BE HONEST YOU SOUND LIKEA NORD OR SWEDISH PERSON SPEAKING ENGLISH. ACTUALY I THOUGHT YOU WAS SPEAKING SWEEDISH LOL

  • you mistake the N with M at the end of the words a lot....

  • Su acento en Inglés está bien y no me cuesta entender, y te puedo decir porque soy americano.

  • para que haces este video jajajaajaja =s

  • Tienes un acento español muy marcado te recomiendo pelis en ingles con subs en ingles. Keep going you are doing quite well

  • Well, I speak Spanish fluently. It's my native tongue. BUT, I don't have an accent in English. Actually, if you're from England or Australia, you might say that I have an American accent but you get what I mean. I don't have a Spanish accent in my English at all...It's not hard. But you are doing great! For someone who still lives in a Spanish speaking country learning English, you're pretty advanced...CONGRATS! :D

  • Spain is Europe.

(i hope i say this right) ¡Eres muy bien! ¡Inglés es muy difícil! ¡Te doy una "A"! ¿Sé que me gusta hablar español, te gusta hablar inglés?

  • You have a strong Spanish accent, but there is no doubt that you will keep improving! By the way, I am studying Spanish, and I have a super strong Canadian accent when I speak it, so... you and I are both learning. xD

  • Es un comienzo, me parece muy bien, a mi me encantan los idiomas ya llevo unos 6 y el primero fue el ingles, soy mexicano, creci en la frontera, por lo tanto no fue tan dificil, pero comprendo que el castellano tiene muy fuerte la R, y la H la pronunciamos como J, ademas trata de trabajar en la S al principio de las palabras Spain...no debe sonar Espein, es muy comun en hispanohablantes, pero muy bien, sigue adelante.

  • You're doing well with English. Keep up the good work. I know learning languages can be hard. I only sorta know Spanish and French, and speaking a foreign language is the hardest part.

  • Your English is good but you have a Spanish and not an American or British one. The R needs to be softer and so does the H because it sounds too much like the J in Spanish when you pronounce the words.keep up the hard work!!I'm Dominican raised in NY btw.

  • you are doing great!!! :)

  • you are not using an english accent? but your english speaking is good.

  • I looove your accent, and you're doing well with your English.

  • Ok, now try to speak English.

  • @catsil89 hahahahahaha really true!

  • You kinda sound like Chekhov from Star Trek. I was just waiting for you to say "nuclear wessle".

  • I can understand you just fine! I am also a spaniard born in america and my parents taught me spanish first, I learned english at school and watching cartoons. I also have a mild accent, my teachers called it a lisp.

  • Your accent/speaking voice is really lovely to listen to, actually. Obviously you will get more confident over time, but it is nice to hear English in your accent instead of how I usually hear it every day here in England :)

  • i had a music teacher he was from spain and sounded just like u

  • your accent sounds pure compared to like the meixican not in a bad way but it sounds more original than the mexican and I can understand your English

  • jajaja wakala que feo hablas!!! esta horrible! jejeej

  • Your accent sounds like a spanish person speaking english :-)

Very good, I could understand most of what you were saying, becareful with the vowel sounds, as you are pronouncing them as you would do in spanish, which is not always the case in English.

Also remember that V and B have different sounds in english.

  • Soy una estudiante de español. This is where I will speak Spanglish, which I find to be very easy to speak lol. Your accent is very good, but I find it's hard for people to learn a pure English accent when they've been speaking a different language their entire life. When you say emission...it should sound like you're saying "emi-shin"

  • Hola. ¿Como esta usted? Soy de los Estados Unidos. Soy estudiante Castellano, durante cinco dias. ¿Me podria ayudar?

    ¡Yo podria ayudar usted tambien!

Remember when you say "V" in English, as in "video", the sound is made by gently touching your upper front teeth to your lower lip. It is much more similar to the Spanish "F" than to the Spanish "V".

  • Also, your accent is very nice, but it is not English, American, or Australian. It is a very Spanish accent but you still are speaking well and I can understand what you are saying.

  • Hola muy buena

  • @damm4 As a fellow linguist, I understand your desire to get feedback from other people regarding your accent. I noticed two things you pronounce differently that MANY Spaniards tend to pronounce wrong / different. When you pronounce a word that starts with S, you tend to start it with ES. for instance, many Spaniards pronounce Spain as Espain. Also, you pronounce your Vs like Bs. This is VERY common for people who speak Castellano, but I don't quite know how to explain a "fix".

  • you are fine, just practice and your will get better

  • HOla muchacho. mira, yo hablas bien ingles. soy Americano. Soy un morena que vive en America. Tu hablas bien y correctamente. tu accento es un de una persona que primera idioma es espanol. No hablas como Americano, British, Australian, nada. pero hablas muy bien. Si tu ves mis videos en mi canal, tu me veras de hablar espanol. yo tengo un accento muy americano porque soy de americo. Nunca pares de practicar. Tu hablas bien y tu accento es facil de ententer. Bueno suerto con tu pratico. Ciao !!

  • Tu tenes MUCHO acento de espana! Pero, yo comprendo porque soy americano.

  • @TheGenesisfan93 Lol the tú form is tienes, not tenes and being American isn't saying much, in fact being American usually means you're ignorant of other languages, even ones spoken in your country but it's only a stereotype.

  • @apc1no What I mean is English is my first and only language. So it's easy for me to understand the most strongest of accents. As far as other languages in my country, if it's not English, why is it here? Our langauge is English.

  • The word for nivel is "level" in English. Your 'i"'s need to be eye, not "i" as you pronounce it in Español. Keep practicing. You're on the right path!

  • @apc1no im going to study in Spain too! It would be funny if we went to the same school

  • hello you're English is not bad actually , you just need to practice your pronunciation more , i recommend to watch English TV shows or films or whatever , it's important to see how the natives pronounce the words that's it muchas gracias :)

  • accent is pronounced aKSent. but your accent is not bad, if english is not your first language it is very hard to get it perfect. if you make yourself understood, that is all you need. you absolutely make yourself understood!

  • Are you a Sanchezian? Dr. Sanchez? from Nickelodeon ChalkZone? she's from Spain. she's 46?

  • @tylereightynine she? I don't understand you

  • pero no deberias leer, par aprender mejor intenta decir lsa cosas esforzandote a recorda las palabras en inglés

  • @Diavolo10000 You're absolutely right. But I don`t master the oral skills yet

You know that in Spain, the school teaches all the grammar.

  • It isn't so bad and it's ENGLISH! I think English is one of the hardest languages for people to learn because it is so irregular and the spellings are so random, and then there's the thick sounds...I would gladly help you with English if you could help me with Spanish because I live in the United States and I think I'm going to go to Spain for college :)

  • @apc1no yeah the spelling are so random, it is true. I think that the chinnese languaje is more difficult, or arabian languaje or in adition russian.

And spanish there are a lot of tenses, but i think is more or less easy xd

I can help you if you need of course, what college are you going to go?

  • @Damm4 Oh I don't know yet but I'm thinking more Germany or Viena now so I'd need to know German. I don't think it's as hard as English but still quite difficult I think.

  • @apc1no lol um try japanese or Chinese

  • spanglish

  • your speaking of english is understandable... as for your accent you can tell your not English... but been asthough your spanish i think it would be pretty hard for you to sound english. Keep trying :)

  • your english is understandable :)

im trying to learn spanish, maybe you can give me some advice, lol.

good luck im sure you will do well :)

  • im from massachusetts and aside from those crazy bostonians and their accent, i have a pretty decent american english accent. if you would like i can make a video response reading the article. i do love your accent right btw ahahah. i was looking for a video of english with a spanish accent so i can practice from it

  • @MsMaphia I would like, you make me a recording!! Other day I have to do other video with my new pronunciation xDDD You have helped me a lot.

  • Comment removed

  • @Damm4 im an american and my accent is a weird combination of "Pittsburghese" and Californian english so if you want to hear me pronounce the article let me know. also, my advice to you if you want to perfect your accent is don't listen to english speakers speaking english---listen to them speaking spanish! then you can really understand the different tendencies because the mistakes are so clear when they are in your native language :)

  • @heartheart47 Thank you very much! It would be great for me that you make a video reading the article, is in the video's description

  • Si quieres aprender inglés ve all Reino Unido, que ahí se aprende bien. En tu país pasa que, la gente habla tu idioma y bueno, es como chocante hablar otro idioma con gente que habla tu idioma.

No me nace hablarle en italiano a un español o viceversa.

Eso sí, el inglés británico es bastante más claro y mucho menos deformado. Aunque no entiendo mucho inglish jejeje.

  • Catalans from Barcelona area have a better accent, they have similar sounds like the letter "j" or "z" or "sh" , The non Catalan speakers don't have those sounds so it gets a little harder to learn different languages because spaniards aren't bilingual, Catalans dominate 2 languages completely so it is easier to learn English or even French

  • I think your kind of good. Keep practising! English isn't easy! and you just sound like a Spanish/Mexican man trying to speak English.

  • Dude your very Down with Accent . . . Hahahahaha Good Luck .

  • 1:56 Butt sex in the States!

  • it's really weird.. spanish people have a different english accent from mexican people. but i would say you have more of an american english accent due to the pronunciation of your words.

  • I'm English and I agree with ashtonmadhatter. If you write up the newspaper article, I will read it out with my (Northern) English accent and see if you can practice from that.

  • @Morrgore Hi, the text is in the video description! thank u

  • I'm English and Ii agree with ashtonmadhatter

  • First of all, accent is pronounced: aCK-sent... not ashcent. Thanks.

American accents very all over the country but mostly the best way to speak American English is to open your mouth wide when you talk. Spanish is very closed in the front of the mouth so in English it is better to open and the r is very small compared to spanish rolling of r's. Sigue praticando porque lo harás!

  • Well, your accent isn't really American or British. It is a typical Spanish accent, which does sound good in English, so don't worry. One thing I picked up on is the word "nivel" (level) at 0.38 which doesn't exist in English, though you did use the correct word "level" at 0.26 . You do pronounce "accent" wrong, it should be like "aksent", and also you should pronounce "improve" as (spanish pronunciation of 'u') "impruv" . But over all your accent is good.

  • Your accent is beautiful.

  • you're so cute and i love your accent. I wont tell you about your accent because everybody has pretty much said everything that i am thinking. I plan on going to school in Spain in August. I was wondering if you would like to help me with my spanish :-)

  • The words like: would, appreciate, about, first, student, accent, very, improve, you, hat, British, for, to, reading, a, text, took, regulate, regulators, emission, mile, the, fuel, sixty, gases, can, pronunciation, hope, messages... are the ones that you must even have to improve... but I have understood you most you have read... and your accent... because of the r-pronunciation, it's to the Scots...

  • You speak English very well! I could understand you, most of the time.

Like other people have said, you tend to place the vowel stress on the wrong syllable, but this shouldn't be too hard to correct; just listen to English any chance you can. When pronouncing the word "accent", you tend to say "ashent", which English speakers may not understand at first.

  • Your English accent doesn't sound American or British; it sounds Irish/Scottish (sorry, I can't tell the difference between the two)!

    Don't think that's a bad thing, because it's not. It's just interesting!

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck, and keep practicing English!

Ud. lo puede hablar muy bien!

  • I can understand everything but you do have a very thick accent! Keep practicing and you'll get better!

  • I think you sound good

A couple of things though. One thing I noticed was that sometimes you put the emphasis on the incorrect syllable. I can see why though, because unlike Spanish, we don't have accent marks so sometimes it's hard to tell.

Another thing was the pronunciation of the letter "i" in "Mileage" or "mile." You tended to pronounce it like the Spanish "i." in these words. It should sound like the Spanish word "Hay." so M-"hay"-leage. Or "M-hay-el. If that makes sense.

  • well, you need more practice and practice, but you speak good, I understand all.. You are better than me jeje..

  • totally Catalan accent

  • you have a fair accent, and you pronounce some words oddly. For example: Accent as Ashent.

  • hola chico - es tu no la kia??

  • Thanks to everyone for your advice!

  • You need to work on the way you pronounce the letter 'g', it is different in english than in spanish

  • You speak english well, i wish i could speak spanish as well as you speak english !

  • La mejor forma de mejorar tu acento ESPAÑOL en tu forma de hablar inglés es escuchar inglés e intentar imitarlo. Puedes escuchar tanto el acento británico como el americano en emisoras de radio online, en podcasts y también en youtube, en entrevistas y demás.

Ánimo! Nunca es tarde para hablar inglés "bien hablado".
