how does her research explains that most muslim countries have less than 1% of their sexually active population with a prevalence of AIDS? you don't have to believe me check wikipedia. What she doesn't tell you that AIDs is mostly concentrated in christian africa and latin america. she should tell their govt to save her own kind from the ills of racism which is a greater threat to the poor.
@aburashdan If you've read her book, you'd know the major problems with epidemiology is the lack of accurate data. The discovery the staggering # of infections among MSM in Jakarta was not because they didn't have AIDS before - it was simply that nobody had surveyed them before! Do "less than 1% of Muslims" have AIDS, or is it simply harder to study these populations? (The fact that many countries in the middle east have no data whatsoever on AIDS infections might suggest the latter)
To listen to the woman you'd wonder why we have any sexual taboos to begin with. Could it be that they work after all in reducing disease and unwanted children. I know that when I was a kid and taboos were still respected there was no AIDs and far fewer unwanted children.

@Peterh588 Or maybe because of the taboo, nobody talked about it or knew and now that it's out in the open, it's more widely known.

I heard about this book on radio 4 this morning. It's quite the hardsell. The adage don't judge a book by it's cover nor it's marketing, is apt here.
