I know a lot of Eric Burdon's fans will criticize me but... Eric ruined a lot of his songs/covers and this is one of them. This isn't singing, just screaming.

Jean Terrell and Levi Stubbs sing the best version of this I've ever heard. As lead singers of The Supremes and the Four Tops, respectively, they covered this with a churchy-soulful rendition. Theirs is the highest charting version.

i wish i could have seen that performance back then i was 18 in 82 and was old enough to do what i wanted to but i am sure that performance wasnt in the united states and if it was where was i at and why i didnt go see him when he came to my town
