  • GM saved Holden from crashing and buring so fuck u all who say this isnt american and the engine is built in the US of A so its still American where it counts

  • @DamsamDamsam hahahaha dont make me laugh, while GM was bleeding cash like a stuffed pig, Holden was still turning a profit....more like GM was holding Holden back....

  • @myridevideos Pontic doesn't build excitement. Holden does. The last Pontiac GTO was a Holden Monaro. The G8 is Holden VE Commodore. Get your facts straight before you make a video about the G8. Pontiac had nothing to do with the car. Everything to do with the car was done by Holden.

  • It's Australian, not American.

    (Holden Commodore)

  • Either do Pontiac... just like Beer we still don't export our best stuff.. the HVS GTS

will never be sold as a Pontiac.. it stays here

  • This is not made by Pontiac. It's Made and Designed by Holden in Australia.

  • I just bought a 2009 G8 GT. I pick it up tomorrow. I can't wait. It is a heck of a car. It is about time GM!!!

  • Since they are doing away with Pontiac, GM should make this the new impala

  • Or bring it back as the chevelle would be cool?

  • I heard it's going to be a chevy. I'm pretty positive that it's going to be. I'm not sure if it will take the place of the impala, but if it doesn't, the impala needs an update, I think.

  • or it might be a Buick, because they haven't had a RWD car since 1987.

(I've heard that somewhere off the net)

  • Gotcha. I heard from a close relative that owns a chevy dealership, but it's probably still uncertain? Either way, a great car is going to be continued.

  • Comment removed

  • They would...except the G8 is way outside the impala's price range. The imapla is still in the I got loads of plastic in my car price range.

  • good to see you amercians are starting to really enjoy cars that actually drive well, not just in a straight line, but around the corners.

  • i own this car and can tell you that there is nothing like it. From its agressive looks to the 361 Horsepower engine this car gets many second looks.

  • blkv8fb00 = my new hero. I'd cut off my sex organ for a car like that. lol

  • Give me my maxima

  • the car is great, i have driven it.you have to spend a lot of money to get comprobale car.cant wait to by one

  • to me its like the bmw 5 series but 40k less in money! wow

  • two thumbs up.

  • Try this Google

    NY Times Pontiac G8

you will see a nice comparison of BMW to Pontiac G8

  • Gas is $1.57 as of today...lol

Do your research before you make your rude incorrect comments.

The Pontiac G8 gets better gas mileage than its competitor the BMW, most Mercedes, other Full Size cars, Trucks and SUV's, it is a very safe car, fun to drive, looks, and handles great, and it even was manufactured using recycled plastic bottles for the carpet and floor mats so it can make you environmental little tree huggers happy too....LOL

  • he got owned

  • I second that

  • i just hugged a tree! wow, oh look theres a hole in the tree..........hmmm ill be back later

  • Awesome car !

  • The GTO has not been made since 2006. Consider since production of 2010 cars will be available for some models in the beginning of 2009.

  • Looks almost the same as the Holden/Pontiac GTO, but reviews either totally ignore and never mention the GTO, or the comment is in passing to degrade the looks of the GTO --which is just as nice looking or nicer than the G8.

GTO is more powerful, comes with a 6MT. But this is never mentioned when anyone reviews the G8. Reviews are very biased in favor of the G8 when it is mostly an inferior car to the GTO/Monaro.

    my opinion

  • the G8 is a Holden too, In face it's based off of the same platform as a GTO/Monaro

  • @bonzelite Both the GTO and g8 are Holdens. The GTO was a Holden Monaro based off the VY Commodore shape and design. The G8 is a VE Commodore. The VY was followed by the VZ and then the VE in 2006. In 2010, Holden released the VE Series 2. Holden confirmed this month that the VF C'dore will arrive in 2012 or early 2013. The Monaro was discontinued due to poor sales in the USA and declining sales in Australia. The VE was the first commodore not to have a Monaro counterpart since monaro returned.

  • I'd be mighty proud to brag that this car is built AND designed in Australia by the good folks at Holden. Great car....no excuses, nothing to hide. Most car for the money here in the United States. Tons of power with an awesome sounding growl, lots of room (6 footers can sit with ease in the back seat), rear drive, 6 air bags, ABS with disc brakes, big trunk, 11 speakers with XM Radio, and great bucket seats. This car on the open road kicks other cars that cost much more into the fucking weeds!

  • this car is sick!!!!!

  • you know what i mean...American/Australian, just the Pontiac nose/front clip, everything else is all Holden, even where the window switches are located! this car begs to be driven...we should dig into the bag of Aussie goodies and maybe America can regain some of its customers back.

  • Or maybe "Pontiac... we import our excitment"

  • Im going to say that when looking for a vehicle, i normally dont look at American ones, i stay with German built cars, BUT this G8 is absolutely amazing on many fronts too...big 6.0L engine pushing 361hp driving the rear wheels, clever yet mellow styling both on the interior and exterior, nice polished quad exhaust tips all under 35k loaded. One issue, a drivers car to me, means being connected to the car, and a manual gearbox would only do it for me. Install that and id buy this car tomorrow

  • Your not looking at an American one....its Australian

  • I've had an oldsmobile Aurora from GM since new and its been the most reliable dam car ever. So careful where you shoot that american brands aren't reliable.

  • I'd be eatin' alot of 'stangs and chargers...lol! Pontiac rules once again!

  • ok sure if you say so, I drive a 1992 ChevyS10 that still purrs like a kitten and havent had a problem that was very expensive and main powertrain never has broke down

  • Hey jon79jon, look it up... You are on the web - basic research isn't that hard! Holden has been a subsidiary of General Motors since the early 1930's. Get your head out of your ass and get a job. While you're out, learn how to punctuate and write properly. It's a shame your parents let you play on the computer while they're out. Wanker.

  • Hey jason, subsidiary is correct, but Holden is not American. Completely, 100% Australian design and manufacture. What pisses people off is you yanks always take credit for someone elses work. Fucken GM bought into Holden all those years ago because they saw what we could do. We are not GM Australia, but known as General Motors Holden. Big difference.

  • The vid states Pontiac should rethink its slogan to "we build excitement". Guess were that came from. Australia's HSV aka Holden Special Vehicles. See what I mean!

  • You Aussies should be proud of this car. It beats the hell out of European cars costing 50% more.

  • "It beats the hell out of European cars costing 50% more."

    and I 100% agree.

  • im changing my name to Hugh Jackman!

Hey thatd be a good porn name

  • The engine and the tranny are the most important part! An all american ford mustang gt500 would smoke this! This is a nice car though.

  • Poor YANKS living in your little dark cave not knowing whats going on outside of your borders, except what "PREZ W" tells you if you would pay attention anyway.Get out take a look around or just google HOLDEN Australia or FORD Australia maybe European Ford ,Vauxhaul/Opel GMs Euro brands.Once done there look up some other Cars Companys plenty in Europe. Then Get on to YOUR CNN maybe BBC world NEWS but keep clear of FOX NEWS because this will undo all your previous hard work!

  • I'll admit, I don't think we have very good Ford and GM products either. I like the Australian brands. People are just tending to buy more American made junk cause of our economy. I would much rather have Japanese/German/Korean cars though.

  • i dislike people like you, your one of those people who compare 2 things that arent comparable, like me saying " oh you have a bicycle, well my crotch rocket will smoke you"

  • is it under 30k.... no

  • I think it starts under 30k but obviously when all said and done you will be paying above 30k but still its a bargain for the price.

  • people have been picking these up for well under 30 recently.

so I'm sure some people probably pay more, maybe you paid retail for your car if you have one?

  • Ford don't even make a car on this level.

  • Uh.. Focus RS?!?!?

  • hahahahaha a focus hahahahahaha wat a fuckin loser!

  • You realize the Focus RS is a 300 HP AWD car?

AHAHAHAHA AMERICAN MUSCLE LOVER HAHAHAHAH wat a fuckin loser!

  • u r comparing a focus to a v8 sedan? be better if u was comparing it to a evo or sti

  • The Focus RS isn't even out yet, and it's supposedly going to kick the Evo and STi's ass.....

  • The focus rs is running 0-60 @6.5 seconds at best, what makes you think that's better than a STI, EVO, or even a G8 GT.

  • pssst.....don't tell him the G8 is made in Australia

  • A focus!!! A focus!!! Are you nuts!!! The G8 is incomparable to the focus!!! The focus would be the one to fall apart!!! I would shut up because I bet you haven't even been in one!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Um yea the G8 has more power than the Focus, but GM is the most unreliable American product out now according to most statistics. News also said a couple of weeks ago that GM sales have dropped 27%, Chrysler 25%, and Ford only 15%. Ford's reliability is close to Honda and Toyota reliability now which is a good thing for Ford. But GM...they only changed their OnStar name to OnStar 8.0. WOW and it doesn't have any extra stuff to it. GM thinks that they are badass cause of OnStar. lmao

  • Forget it fuckface, I'm done messing around with the likes of you.

  • wow, no need to be rude lad

  • btw, I don't want to argue with you anymore.

  • @cadillactoddd they sure do, it's direct competitor in Australia is the Ford Falcon XR8 or it's performance arm FPV which has a version called the GS. There is also an option of the F6 Turbo which has an straight 6 and will eat this thing for breakfast...... as per Top Gear "The best sports sedan on sale in the world today under $100 000.00" thats a pretty tough act to beat. So yep Ford does have a car on this level and they do it better.

  • @Ansett76 they dont.

  • @scarblade234 yeah they do. If you drive the FG and the VE in standard form, the Ford is the much better drive the F6 is a cracker no matter how u look at it and the new Cyote V8 will now put Ford on the map now too.Look at any of the Holden range against Ford:

Barina Vs Fiesta (Daewoo Vs Ford Europe no vcompetition)

Cruze Vs Focus (Daewoo Vs Ford Europe) the Cruze is worse than anything in its class

Epica Vs Mondeo need I even state the obvious Epica is a joke.

Holden has some work 2 do

  • @Ansett76 Cruze is actually considered one of the best in it's class. The Series 2 Cruze (now on market) is made by Holden. Holden sell the 2nd most cars in Australia with Toyota at number 1, mazda at 3 and finally ford at 4. I think the country disagrees with you. The Commodore is the most sold car for 15 years and in Feb 11, the Falcon was the 6th most sold car. Yes the Cyote V8 is good but FPV is no where near as good as HSV. HSV do more to a C'dore than FPV do to a Falcon.

  • @scarblade234 mate, I work for a major car rental brand and we have taken on literally over a thousand of these Aussie wide with more to come. We have no end of customer complaints, the staff hate them and their reliabilty is flawed. Gutless, crook gearbox, poor rear legroom and crap handling, I could go on.Sales volume of cars doesn't always equate to it being a good car. In fact a lot of these sales are to rental compaines which means simply a good deal offered at the time. cont...

  • @scarblade234 the reason why we have so many Cruze is the fact that Mitsubishi was unable to fulfil a large order of Lancers at the time, Holden had Cruze's sittin around doing nothin. Unfortunately Aussies are brand snobs and put up with crap because of a badge. How else do u explain the Barina, Daewoo couldn't sell them for love nor money. Suddenly Daewoo is gone and 6mths later they get rebadged as a Holden and they are everywhere....my case in point. Drive a Cruze and u will see......

  • @Ansett76 Barina's are every where because Aussie girls love them. Aussie men love the commodore. I guess the medium size car class is pretty crap then.

  • Comment removed

  • @scarblade234 oh....and the Cruze was designed by Daewoo in Korea, regardless of where it is now built.

  • @Ansett76 Series 2 was designed and built here.

  • omg i want this car so bad, but my 97 grand prix gtp will do for now

  • got one. awesome. recommend it

  • nice car

  • About time. Aussies get all the good cars.
