Highlander carries the Hit Plus skill, which adds more hits to Yuri's Mystic Arte.

how do you get and use mystic artes?

You'll need a few things:

1.) A weapon possessing the skill "Special." Such as the Dein Nomos or Second Star for Yuri. This isn't the same for Repede or Karol though. PM me for a full explaination if you like.

2.) Aquire Limit Trio through Synthesis. You can get it as soon as you enter Yormgen for the first time. Be sure you have stones dropped by Fire and Ice Spirits in the desert.

3.) When the limit guage hits lvl 3, tap the left arrow on the D-pad, then perform a Arcane, Altered, Intermediate or High Arte and hold B. If you want, hold A first to do a Burst Arte, then hold B to finish with a Mystic Arte.

Yep, that's all there is to it, but you don't need all the limits, though. Just lvl 3 or higher. But level 4 OL makes you invincible, so that will help to keep you from being interrupted.

And make sure the last hit of an Arcane, Altered or Burst arte hits, otherwise it won't work.

Yes, it has to have Special, but once it's been mastered, you can switch weapons and turn on the Special skill from the Skills menu.

Some tend to be hidden in boxes behind Giganto monsters. Well, one atleast. I think the Rod for Estelle is behind Poseidon in the Shrine of Zaude. Karol and Repede's Special are gotten through side-quests. If you want, I can PM you how to get those two.

This makes me wonder. In a few exhibition videos, I've seen Yuri leap into the air, after the final blow as shown in this video, and sent another finishing blow from above.

My guess is that it's just another skill I have yet to obtain. =P

But Yuri's Mystic Arte kick a*s as always.

It's actually button-triggered.

While Judith's is easy enough to pull off (Just hold the Guard button), I was never again able to find the instructions to change Yuri's mystic animation.

A weapon called Highlander has a skill called "Hit Plus." Tapping the attack button adds 20 hits to Savage Wolf Fury.

im using blazor edge and i noticed that in the vid your guy hits around 15 x more than my guy does. does it have anything to do with the weapon or is it a different button com?

15x more as in damage or hits?

If damage: Blazor Edge becomes stronger depending on how many enemies Yuri himself killed by the time its power is unlocked during the final battle. For example, by the end of my game, Repede's Susanoh raised ATK to 4,482.

If hits: That's Yuri's "Hit Plus" skill from the Highlander weapon. Tap the attack button to add hits to Savage Wolf Fury~

Yes, you can master the Hit Plus skill.

I don't know why I'm doing this, but I will... Have the "Special" skill equipped from the Skill menu. Bold green means it's on. Activate a lvl 3 OverLimit, perform a mastered Altered Arte, Arcane Arte, Burst Arte or High Level spell and hold B.
