People feel this is cruel because, This Video is In Bad Taste, and Encourages It's Viewers to Play with Baby Gerbils in a Nonchalant & Irresponsible Manner. "Temporarily "Blind" Baby Gerbils when they are that young primarily depend on their Sense Of Smell to survive, & they don't roll on their backs because it's fun to them. They do it because they can't walk/crawl perfectly yet. Blind Baby Gerbils (& any baby animal) become frantic, as seen here, when they do not "Smell" their parents nearby.
They're too little to be away from their mom, not to mention on a hard surface. They need soft bedding and the warmth of their mom. Don't do this anymore...PLEASE!
LOL I think its funny how when your a kid your told if you touch baby birds and stuff the mom will reject it.. now we all assume EVERY animal is this way. I thought as we grew we learned things but I guess not.
need to leave baby pups alone ..... i know they are so sweet and cute but mommy gerbils can eat here young...i know this video w3as a while back but stil....my jesse just a her pups on march 6, 2011 she had 5
i breed gerbils and i hope u can have a look at my videos , btw this is comic genius , and gerbils arnt likely to reject their babies , its hamsters and mice that do, NOT GERBILS OR RATS, i should know!!!! what colours did they become and what gender r they?? and i comented earlier and i still dont understand when u have said about them being grandparents and stuff
i breed gerbils and i hope u can have a look at my videos , btw this is comic genius , and gerbils arnt likely to reject their babies , its hamsters and mice that do, NOT GERBILS OR RATS, i should know!!!! what colours did they become and what gender r they??
well i think this is comic genius,it good to handle them, as he sed all of them grew up so i think people who know quat bout gerbil breeding shouldnt comment on things also, it was a little irresponsible to put them under the bright light as they could have been 2 hot,, that may have something to do with the fact why they were moving so much. i breed gerbils, and i handled them from day 1 , so shut up if u dont know, gd 4 u whoever makes these videos stick up 4 ureself but stay careful with them
wow i am absolutely appalled by the comments on this video! For some of these people who are not experienced breeders don't talk about it like you know what your talking about! Gerbils are not hamsters, you can pick up the babies as soon as there born as long as your in good with the mother. And they are NOT fragile, there babies sure but never once was this person harming these little guys in any way. People are ignorant bigboyce, just don't even let it bother you.
i wouldn't leave you with animals because i wouldn't trust you how woul'd you like it if someone was toying with you at 3 days old you haven't got a clue what you're talking about its not about how the gerbils are now , its what happened then
when they were 3 days old . we are all spouting off at your crulety video because theres a good
enough reason for it , this is the actual reason we are all "spouting" off at .
Its now 2 and a half years since i posted this video and yet people still seem to be posting about cruelty.
Every single one of them in this video grew into a perfectly healthy adult gerbil, in fact they are all entering their senior years now as they are all over 2 and a half years old, 2 have had litters of their own and 1 is even a grandmother now! they werent ever rejected by their mother, they were always safe, warm and looked after. If you wanna spout off about something do it elsewhere!
You know, too much handling of the baby gerbils could lead to rejection by the mother! You risked their well being to turn them into mutant ninja gerbils? They're not even teenagers!
once i hat a little tent on my front lawn when i was little. we had had it up for 2 days, when we took it down there was a family of newborn mice under it XD thay kinda looked like this.
These Gerbils are like 2 years old now and people are still saying rediclous things like dont handle babies.
All rodent babies can be handled, and have to be handled when cleaning out the cages. As long as they are kept warm, in this video they are under a heat lamp, the rolling around is just what they do at that age!!! Ive never lost a baby gerbil, hamster or rat baby and ive handled all the litters plentiful and numerous times.
That was the most immatrue thing I've heard. Seriously? And obviously you don't. I've been studying gerbils for years. I do know what I'm talking about.
yes big boyce, that was a very immature response.....i know nothing about gerbils but it was also my initial response that they look too young to be handled...however i did also think that this handling may lead to rejection by the mother.
@bigboyce yeah well my gerbils had babies and the mother was very friendly with me, she never rejected any except for one weak baby with no spine. She would purr when I hold her, and she always trusted me with the babies!
no she wont .. u have to wash ur hands .. u can touch them when they are 2 days old an older so dont say that.. i touched my bbys and they r 21 days old the mama didnt abandom them .. or eat them
As if I am to stop you. And what is you opinion? I don't really know. And why point out the obvious? Do you think people are so dumb they cant see they are babies?
No way, these guys are all fully grown now, theres no problem handling gerbies at a young age, the mother doesnt mind, obviously only have them out for a little bit each time.
those definitely aren't teens lmfaooo
