As I mentioned in a previous clip, it took my brother and I months to realize we could talk to the Ferryman, and then get off the island. We we stuck there for months in the game. Not kidding.
I had the Win 3.1 version back in the day! When I found the re-release of the full series, I was somewhat disappointed by the lower quality of the "portraits" when you talk to people...thankfully everything else is exactly the same. :)
i think i was about 9 or 10 when i first played this game and I was probably a bit immature for it, looking back at it as a 19 year old i realise how amazing it really is!

Prince Alexander is such a nancyboy, prancing about with his yellow scarf and sounding like an anal little schoolboy. I bet he doesn't like people touching his hair.
I have. Not officially, but I have some tight black tuxedo pants and a very nice long sleeved green dress shirt, I borrowed a yellow scarf from a female friend, and used ugg boots. LOL
Seriously, though, if people had more manners these days...
I feel so nostalgic while I watch this. I would play this game with my dad on saturday mornings and we would find and figure out more things. Ah this game was so amazing. <333
You don't have to worry about putting off viewers for being thorough and clicking on everything. I love detail, and am jealous that you can play the Windows 3.1 version. I have XP and can't get the games to work, except in DosBox. This playthrough is great. Thanks!
Yeah, I didn't offer a bunch of stuff to the people on the Isle of the Crown because I figured 90 minutes before even using the magic map was long enough.

i never figured out how to get past this part. I never saw in the boat before.

Hehe, first time I watched this playthrough I had trouble focusing on the dialogue because I'd noticed the ferryman's theme is Blow the Man Down.

You can try offering a ring and a coin to the ferryman - it produces different responses from the "Talk" icon but it's no more helpful.
