  • 1.59 She starts smiling lol

  • @Y0si666 lol yeah :)

  • the madcat is so sick

  • Harrison: Damn you Panther, I need the chassis back!!

  • ah the nostalgic days of the ham and cheese that was fmv cutscenes

  • MAD CAT JAGUAR MAD CAT

  • w ww.mechcommanders.shorturl.com

  • This game is amazing. Playing it again now, getting that Mad Cat in mission 3 is as much of a bitch as ever.

Here's hoping the reboot will come out soon and it'll be worth this great license.

  • The small ships at the very beginning look like Vipers from Battlestar Galactica

  • @750sedan Those actually might be Lucifer Aerospace fighters. I might be wrong but thats what they seemed in my eyes.

  • @Mecha82 But those dont have 4 Engines

and in the Intro they dont have theese wings on the front

dammit posting links is harder than i thought a "#" is a "."

Mad Cat - "This motha fucka!"

Raven - "Oh shit, oh shit, OH SHIT!"

  • bullshit

  • Liked the sensors are attached to her boobs XD

  • i wished the mechcommander 2 intro was as epic as this one

  • @rodo678

Agreed. The acting in both MechWarrior 4 and MechCommander 2 sucked ass.

  • FINISH HIM! RAVEN WINS.

  • 2:10 EJECTING EJECTING EJECTING LOL

  • wwwdotmechcommandersdotcom

  • iam still playing this game, its amazing, i wish for the another sequel

  • "Finish him!"

  • @SovietFox Achievement: More than one way to "skin a madcat"

  • man this game was the shit back in the day.

  • bwahahaha this is for serious? lol, oh lordy lordy lordy lordy....complete shit eh

  • Which one is this is it after Mechwarrior 4 or is it the first one?

  • @michaelhviper Mechwarrior 4 was the last of the games, at least until Reboot is released.

  • @michaelhviper MechCommander was After mechwarrior 2, but before Mechwarrior 3 (during the IS invasion of Clan space).

  • Not much for the uniforms of teh pilots

  • @PANZERDRIVER1 MechWarriors do not wear uniforms, other than a simple cooling vest and shorts, because of the heat generated by their 'mechs.

Wearing anything more and they would literally be roasted in their cockpits

  • I know this, but to thing of the technologies they use they cold as well R&D and produce a full pilot suit that is harden against Vacum, NBC, and high temp. Ohter then that is just a personel like. Tankers ware a jumpsuit, even in teh heat of the Midle East and in the turret with the heat of equipment and weapons fire. As for the mechs build up of heat, it would need to build in more systems to lower tem. Fun thing about Sci-Fi, its you can always build in new systems.

  • @PANZERDRIVER1 Aye, that's what heat sinks in Battlemechs are for, to dissipate as much heat from a 'mech as posible in the heat of battle after continuously using all of their weapons. I never followed the Armour division though, but I assume it works in much the same way, with their weapons heat-build up, but it comes in handy more with 'mech pilots, since even moving a 'mech can generate a lot of heat from their fusion reactors.

  • @PANZERDRIVER1 No, the cockpit of a 'mech is air-tight, meaning that you can operate them both in space and undwer water. The cooling vests they wear are only to keep their body temperature regulated with the amount of heat build-up caused by their 'mechs, nothing more.

  • The Colonel was way out of line telling the orderly to inform the flight deck the LZ was clear. If you hadn't went ahead and told them we were go for invasion, this wouldn't be a problem, but now we've a touchdown ETA under 1:30, so you'd damn well better hope I get this under control, or that's your life/career. Really, it's a Hunchback, a Raven, a Centurion, and a freakin' COMMANDO. An elite Clan pilot isn't needed here; this lance stands NO chance against even a regular-level Madcat pilot.

  • This fight is choreographed to be intense for the watchers (us)... so there are some delays in there to heat your tension up.

    a) In the Timer Wolf I would've shot the Raven the instance I turned my torso

    b) In the Raven I would be on the run the sec I launched my missiles

    c) The Clan pilot is indeed incompetend, doesn't hit shit with his super accurate weapon tec. Clan homeworlds are defended by 2nd or 3rd rated units, not their elite.

  • @Kashban youre wrong at b), here's why, as you may have noticed they are taking commands from a commander and they do what the commander tells them to do and when panther(the raven pilot) shot the Timber Wolf or Mad Cat, he did not know what to do next, that's why.

  • @mistryeag1e I've run the Raven in alot of battles in MW4 Mercs online in a Lance with a commander and if there is one rule to game, it is: A light mech is either on the move or destroyed. One second of hesitation is enough for everyone of the size of a Mad Cat to spoil your day.

In Mech Commander Game the Commander triggers all events. In a "real" combat situation a light pilot has to have certain areas to act freely and a Mad Cat just in front of you is exactly one of that areas.

  • What a classic. 10 Smoke Jaguar warriors obviously hate this video.

  • What a classic.

  • "This is Hunter."

  • @barneythefatdinosaur 'Spare parts for everyone!!'...lol i love the pilots in this game hahah...Firestorm was my favorite...idk why, maybe b/c the mech he first drives is the stolen Dire Wolf =D

  • @CMDRFandragon Salvage was ridiculous fun, but also thoughtful (hence one of the tactical elements). I remember MechWarrior 3 (takes place after MechCommander), by the time I reached Ops Zone 3, I said "screw it, trash all the IS weapons and just bring Clan stuff."

  • @blackyoshi1230 Not much fun or challenge if all you do is deck out your lances with Clan tech.

  • @Gallowell By the time I reached Ops Zone 3, I ran out of room for salvage. The only things I.S. I could take with me are the heavier Mechs I could get, and a bunch of Lasers (thankfully less heat than Clan variants. Heat level cap in Mech3 is 100, Mech2 is 255). I had to ditch most of the I.S. ballistics (save my trusty AC-10) and missiles because they're a crapload heavier than Clan ammo-based weapons. Besides, when you blow up the Mech factory in 2-4, you get a boatload of Clan tech.

  • @CMDRFandragon It was a Masakari/Warhawk though.

  • @Kaizoushin YES! I always get those names mixed up, both mechs are so awesome lol.

  • Lol, I love how the Raven rockets bounce off the armor without even leaving char marks, then the Mad Cat just turns and is like..."did you seriously just do that"?

  • By fat one of the best games ever, its such a shame this great developer is no more, they made so many amazing games

  • This game is was beast and still is! Awesome.

  • ER PPC.

  • The acting is sooooo cheesy.

    Nostalgic nonetheless.

  • Comment removed

  • @pierreo33 I think the acting is great for something so old.

  • @Kennyboy0077 ehhhh... good acting doesn't become bad just because it's old... check movies from the 30/40/50s

  • @pierreo33 I never said that. I just said I think its good acting.

  • Agree, that timber wolf should have mopped the floor with that lance. I am wondering it lock on with its missles and pick that raven apart.

  • @thedoctor42209 Seeing how the Timber Wolf has its LRM-20s, that would depend if he is too close (the minimum LRM lock on range is 75 meters). Otherwise, he could have done an Alpha Strike (or done an Alpha sans LRMs).

  • Shame that they let that hunchback go down. That thing coulda done some serious damage.

  • Uno de mis juegos favoritos, recuerdo haberme desesperado millones de veces tratando de recuperar el MADCAT o el VOLTURE para tener un mejor arsenal. Espero algun dia poder jugar el Mechcommander 2.

  • yet ANOTHER Microprose classic! They just released one after another from around 1985 to 1999!

  • It doesn't actually make sense that the other mechs got to where they were that quickly... at the intersection we'll say the raven was to the west. The command has it turn 180, run west, then turn right twice. At this point the raven is east of the mad cat - the thor etc appear from the west... At the intersection they had gone south, meaning they had to run almost twice as far to get to where they were, and they're much slower mechs than the raven, which ran the whole way... Zzz.

  • @Walley666 P.s. Think I got my names mixed up - is thor the clan name for hunchbacks? Been too long, I forget a lot of the two way mech names lol.

  • @Walley666 'thor' is the IS name and, later, variant on the Clan 'Summoner'.

Sarna.net has pretty much any and all information you ever need to know about anything in the BattleTech universe.

  • anyone know what Hardcase was in?

  • @dec20056 He was in a Hunchback

  • This was my first PC game ever. Man nostalgia nostalgia.

  • @vassaprime. Haha sigh........mrm

  • Funny how i play mcg and mc2 everday and i always skip the intro but im bored and watch it on my phone lol

  • 10 idiots

  • What a Nostagiagasm...

  • lol, the commander usin a touch pad for control... in a microsoft game xD

  • Funny how the Hunchback fires his very short ranged ac20 not even seeing the enemy mech in front of him. :D

  • @Gammelbit I know the loadout is usually AC20, and that the cannon size looks like one too, but it doesn't seem to fire like an AC20. Seems to fire too rapidly for that in the video. Maybe UAC20? Probably just a video inaccuracy.

In retrospect, Commandos don't carry LRMs either >_>

  • @c3nty2 Regarding that this game includes the option to buy every IS mech, even Atlas, with jumpjets, I think everything is possible. ;)

  • @Gammelbit

  • @c3nty2

AC 20 doesn't mean that it fires a single round.

It always fires a series of rounds - with higher calibre of course.

I think in MW 3 especially that was pretty well designed. I know in the tabletop game rules etc it is a single round but that is of course for gameplay reasons ;)

The Commando of course has no LRM, but a shitload of SRM - i don't know what range in 'hexes' that was, but it was closer than 9 ;)

Good enough for both ranges ;D and the world looks okay again ^^

  • @JheakrynaKyAlur Just to expand on what you said, the amount of rounds an AC can fire is directly related to the designation of the AC weapon in question: Where AC20 fires of a 'cluster' of 20 armour splitting shells, the AC5 spits out 5 rounds, like the AC does 10. Exactly the same as the LRM, SRM and (dare I even acknowledge its existence) the MRM

  • @VazzaPrime

i'm not that sure if the AC really fires up to 20 rounds... that sounds more like the LBX AC, with some pallets to hit the enemy - with the missile hit table.

but in fact yes, ACs don't fire a single shell, but a stream of grenades that are summed up to the ammount of dmg it deals. but without missile table :)

  • @JheakrynaKyAlur You're right, sorry. Yes, it is the LBX weapons that do that, so what I said about the AC just ignore or put it down to a momentary brain freeze.

  • the balck guys always dies.....(hardcase)

  • @winglo Well, in this case, he likely survived. (He ejected ejected EJECTED EJECTED-)

  • Ah, yes, the opening levels of mechwarrior.

"Gladis, I just encountered a Centurion, cancel my one o'clock".

    Shootmiss.

    Shootmiss.

    Shootmiss.

    Shoothit trivial damage

    Shootmiss

    Shootmiss.

  • These mechwarriors are incompetent. You would think they are conscripts or something.

  • @Panax07 Two lights (one a Raven which is worth squat in direct combat, especially against a Clan heavy) and two mediums, all of which has shorter range then the Clan Heavy, the Clan Timber Wolf class would have enough firepower to take em down. Hell, if the Timber Wolf pilot wasnt incompetent that lance would have been wiped out.

  • @HoOkEdOnBlEaCh At least the Mad Cat pilot was bright enough to take out the Hunchback first. (not saying much, the fact that they can take on heavier mechs is well known)

Yes, I called it a Mad Cat, I'm a die hard Lyran and I'll call it by it's Inner Sphere name! (I've met people who are a bit anal about using the Clan Names)

  • @SwordlordRoy Oh, I agree that in the IS it should be called a Mad Cat, its just that when its being piloted by a clanner I tend to call it Timber Wolf.

And I am a Steiner-Davion (And by extention the Federated Commonwealth) fan. (and I also like the Taurians). I hated it when Katherine Steiner-Davion went ahead and caused a civil war. That ***** deserved to have died in the womb. =/

  • @HoOkEdOnBlEaCh I never called the Clan 'mechs by their IS variant. It seemed to 'cheapen' them somehow, and the Clan names were always cooler.

  • @Gallowell that's respectful in regards to the clan scientist caste

  • @HoOkEdOnBlEaCh

Clanners don't know tactics, they rely on their superior skills and technology. Thus the IS outsmarts them

  • @JoshuatheKodiak The Clans know tactics, they just relied on their genetic engineering and beliefs that they were 'superior' to any freeborn to consider anyone much of a threat. That's how the IS brought the invasion to a halt, not by any real tactics but to use the Clan's arrogance against them.

  • @HoOkEdOnBlEaCh The Timber Wolf pilot wasn't incompetant (although I can se why you could think so). I put it down to the fact that the Jaguars only allowed Trueborns to be MechWarriors and a trait all Trueborns share is that they consider freeborns nothing but barbiarns and underestimate them far too often. If it wasn't for the Jaguar's arrogance and constantly switching targets, it would have won without any difficulty.

  • @Gallowell That may be, but the only thing the pilot did right was taking down the Hunchback first, the Hunchback with its AC20 was admittedly the most dangerous.

  • @HoOkEdOnBlEaCh In the city fight - the range is not exactly everything - and with Ravens jamming he must have come closer to use the rockets. His fault was that he let the small and quick bastard (Raven) get his attention. He could have easily ignore him. As heavy he got enought armor to smash the running two to pieces and than, after thery dead, just wipe the little anoying thing out.

  • @Tholdrinn True enough, yeah, the Clanner should have ignored the Raven, and focused on the Centurion and then the Commando, after which he would have looped back to take out the Raven. Since unlike the Raven (and the Commando for that matter) a Centurion cant outrun him.

  • @HoOkEdOnBlEaCh quite sad isn't it, putting a noob pilot into a nicely done Timber Wolf

  • @HoOkEdOnBlEaCh

It's not what you've got, it's where you stick it that counts.

  • @HoOkEdOnBlEaCh Perhaps the Clansman was just a rookie. Who knows.

  • @wd40isgreat a rookie in a madcat? lol I don't think so

  • @blisterbeetle01 They're fanatics, fanatics don't do things that make sense. They probably gave him the privilege because he was suicidally aggressive or something.

  • EJECTING EJECTING EJ......

    TRACK THAT POD!!!!!!!!

  • a few lucky shots in the back. Best intro i have ever seen.

  • God this intro was WAY better than Mechcommander 2's intro.

  • Yeeeee

  • 0:44

    HOLY SHIT , COMMANDER SHEPARD?

  • Wtf how does a mad cat lose that that group of weakings I can take down at 4 assualt mechs in MW4 and kill over 20 in MW2 (mechwarrior)

  • @halranger

The Clanner's pride probably got in the way, he was shot by a raven, and chased it down.

  • @GreenFenril dat Timber Wolf coulda owned them all

  • Wonder how many times he had to restart this mission to salvage the Mad Cat. *rolls eyes*

  • @ktzeroii Probably a LOT less than your arse.

  • @Gallowell Well you assume wrong lol, wasn't talking about myself. Guess you never managed it?

  • I would be really pissed if my Timber Wolf got owned by 2 SRMs.

  • @jahahahaha To be honest it was hit by several missiles in the rear torso section, these are lightly armoured even at maximum armor, and if I remember correctly this is were the engine might be

  • You have to love the look of the Timber Wolf as it turns to face the Raven after it launches an SRM salvo into it's back. Always makes me think the Timber Wolf pilot is saying "Okay, NOW you are royally fucked little freebirth!"

  • I like this cinematic a lot because it actually explains the role of the player, and shows what the game is supposed to be all about in a clever way.

  • Best mechwarrior cinematic of all time. Even better than the MW4 one.

  • @chambillgame wrong game dude. mechCOMMANDER, not mechwarrior

  • @superpyromaniac

I meant battletech. It's the best mech/battletech cinematic.

  • @chambillgame No, that honour stays with MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries.

  • That is the scariest shit ever. I would never have the balls to be the bait of a Madcat in a raven.

  • @couchpatatoe51 Been there and done that. As long as you know how to use not just speed but terrain to your advantage, you can pretty much bring down an entire Star of Heavies as long as you don't get cocky.

Of course, the Raven is not really available to self-pilot in most games, so I take out the Fire Moth whenever possible.

  • @couchpatatoe51 Timber Wolf, freebirth. Timber Wolf.

  • @RookStarcraft Clan scum.

  • @couchpatatoe51

Try it ingame, let's just say it ends with the mech vaporized and the pilot even more so.

  • well done intro. though i notice timberwolves always get cooked.

  • EJECTING EJECTING JECTING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Watched this for the 200th time. Who directed?

  • Just further proof that the Hunchback is the most useless mech ever

  • @Catman2030 Not if you know how to pilot it properly.

  • So many good memories were made from playing games in the Battletech/ Mechwarrior universe...

  • Although there are canon reasons why a Clanner would ignore those other two mechs... that doesn't make him less of an idiot.

Heh.. In the final couple of seconds, you almost expect those Battlemechs to hug or something.

  • btw why the hell is she smiling in the background at 02:00? (already noticed it when i played it the first time ages ago)

  • @darkawakening01 I never noticed that until you pointed it out.

  • @darkawakening01 holyshit that is creepy lol!

  • @darkawakening01

She's laughing because she doesn't like black people

  • @zombat Racist fuck.

  • @Gallowell

Hey I'm not the one laughing at the black guy getting arse whooped

  • @zombat

PS. Go flog a few of your 'roos and buy a new sense of humour you oversensitivie prick

  • @darkawakening01 lol yeah i remember thinking that she's actually evil ( a spy or i don't know what) when i was 7 years old...AAAAh good old times. god i loved this game is because of the ridiculous dificulty. i never played the gold edition and i don't care to play this game with lower dificulty :D. today games are RETARDEDLY easy...

  • Bah. Stupid nub mechwarriors. Clan tech for life damn't

  • So corny that it was awesome XD

  • I remember playing this beginning over and over, It was done very will and it sat the stage for the game very will.

  • Mad Cat V.S. Hunch-back? Mad Cat wins.

  • @madcat789

Lol pretty much. At least the HB mighta done some damage if he hadn't have missesd his AC shot. Far as Battletech canon is concerned, that thing could saw a Mad Cat in half o_O

  • @madcat789 Particularly when you take into account the Timber Wolf boasts all Clan tech (which includes but not limited to extended range weapons and radar) but a genetically engineered soldier who is bred to pilot the 75 tons of walking metal (not to say a huge ego of himself and loathing for any freeborn)

  • FREAKING BEST INTO EVER!!!!!

  • track that pod!... lol

  • Wow. That was actually a pretty intense intro.

  • Too bad Fasa is down and out. Not to mention a host of legal problems between the current owners of the Battletech universe and a competitor. I think the MechWarrior and MechCommander games would be great contenders for remastering and re-release onto modern game consoles and computers.

Considering that the last expansion of MechWarrior 4 was released in 2003, I think we may never see such a venture happen or at least not any time soon...

  • @DrMackFoxx These days, the kiddies are too busy whining and kicking up a hssy fit about such shit like the (equally shit) Transformers movies for anyone to take notice of the great old games and those of us who are fans of such things as BattleTech and MechWarrior.

  • I Wish Microsoft Would make more mech commander and mech warrior games i miss playing both.

  • OMFG best strategy ever, should have continues after M2, played today, after 10 years still entertaining

  • The only mission I really hated was perhaps Mission 4 of Operation 1 (I think is the correct one) where you had to defend the farm from 4 Stars and seemingly unlimited armour support. I still curse those SRM carriers!

  • Welcome to Port Arthur... have a nice day!

  • At 2:01 the commander is cracking up in the background...

  • @tgromofo are you sure she dont have gas?

  • Absolutely loved this game! Didn't like the 2nd,lol.

  • Black dude dies first @ 2:10

    Cleavege @ 4:15

  • @Cropduster777 the black dude didn't die because he was EJECTING!! EJECTING!! EJECTING!! hahahaha XD

  • take out the tough mech first

    some strategy

  • One of the best intros of the day. Still awesome today. Its too bad Microsoft got involved with the second one and ruined it, along with the Mechwarrior franchise. These games were great as is.

  • Those are some ugly mechs, I like the Mech Warrior animation better.

  • hey, do those mechwarriors have scouters? Is that madcat's powerlevel over 9000?

  • Now that`s a commander !

  • @Iwillgetyou2 SPOILER: Harrison get a blowjob later

  • @Cropduster777 No, you're just a fucking immature prick. Evidenced by your profile video.

  • @gribae LOL dude, chill out, I wasn't even trolling I was just tryin to be funny. God damn man. the youtube comments section sucks ass.

  • @Cropduster777 ONly when it's people lik you who post comments about shit like you did on them.

  • @gribae Um. Ok. Simply because I'm interested: what exactly in my comment post was so horrible? Which part? I was making silly fun of a silly intro movie. Tell me what I did wrong because I have no idea.

  • @Cropduster777If you have to ask, then you obvious do not have a clue about how to be 'civilised'.

Anyway, I have no time for useless bickering, so I'll be ignoring you now.
