I like how more people are concerned about what songs are in this video then how our currency is going to be worthless in the next few years. Its time to stop listening to techno and wake up sheep.
But it was Reagan who was the big spender, not the Democrats. Look at this chart based on US Treasury data. No wonder everyone in our nation hates Republicans.

If you cherry-picked every little bit of history without telling the whole story, you could make Hitler look good. Ron Paul and his acolytes are woefully uninformed and naive. Good thing he'll never be more than a loudmouthed Christo-freak congressman. If you like free markets, go live in Somalia. Nothing's regulated over there.
I think you went a bit fast on the text up until about Bush (G.W.). I'm glad however that military spending is included in this... Too many conservatives write off the pentagon's budget as sacred and untouchable. I may not fully agree with what you probably believe, but we do indeed have a big system and we should go through (I think obama proposed something *like* this) and search line by line in the budget and see what we can eliminate or cut. Versus a 5%+ bump across the board every year.
This timeline doesn't go back far enough. In order to understand the real "roots" of our problems, we have to look at the progressive movement and the establishment of the Federal Reserve at the turn of the 20th century.
@FreeTheWorker Roosevelt simply took credit for the economy. He was an arrogant heavy handed power addicted opportunistic maniac whose ego was so big that he did not even follow George Washington's example of stepping down from power to preserve the idea of a Republic, which by the way was destroyed in great part due to Franklin's programs that undermined the principles of our founding.
@DCUPtoejuice America entered two world wars and saw the nationalization of labor, that spending helped pull us out of the great depression.
But truth be told, capitalism failed and that's why we were in the depression in the first place. If not for Keynesian interference and government spending we'd be following the example Spain set during the Spanish Civil War before communists and fascists stamped their movement out. Worker self management, and worker self ownership.
@FreeTheWorker well we are certainly not seeing the world the same way. I suppose neither of us has seen a the system that we advocate in action, but I prefer the rule of law protecting individual property rights as its highest priority and FDR ushered in an era of gradual decline of liberty in exchange for a nanny state.
@DCUPtoejuice And what convinces you that a free society is devoid of rule of law? People have basic needs and basic interests that are universally human, and while any person has a right to do with themselves what they wish, those rights only extend so far as their actions do not encroach on others. If I violate your rights, by default I forfeit my own in doing so, it is a very basic concept.
Law should not mean top down authority of the state, to enforce any arbitrary undemocratic ruling.
@DCUPtoejuice Yeah, I feel kinda dirty for voting for a Republican, even though he's largely libertarian. I hope the Libertarian Party becomes dominant during the next few years, locally and federally
ITS NOT THE PRESIDENTS! its the congress! The federal budget is a public good, and its a race to spend it on ur constituents before other congressmen do. Search "Stossel tragedy of the commons"
No household or business could survive if they financed 40% of their outlays. Government will soon learn that they are no different. To finance our government on the backs of future generations is immoral.
The sad thing about this video is that you LIST OFF all these programs as if "they're a bad thing!" Why? Simply because "We spent a lot of money", even though most of them serve VERY important purposes!?
Libertarianism: extreme childishness and selfishness in adult form. I used to be one, but then I grew up.
So now instead of using your own money and time to help people you rather let the Government take care of it? No libertarians are not shell fish, or even selfish. We just believe that people can do more good for each other than the Government can ever do.

Marxism and fascism are equally dangerous ideologies and I treat them with contempt because I take individual liberty seriously. When good men do nothing, bad things get done. Ron Paul 2012!
@Adnankhashoggi. Actually the military was mentioned. I recall the wars under Bush were specifically mentioned and it was brought up at least once or twice before that too. In any case, doesn't that make the situation even worse than what the video is saying?
We don't live in a Free Market Economy. Is it regulated at the very least by government? Yes, it is. Then, no it isn't free. We live in a Mixed Economy. That means that someone is determining the economy's progress. Is there an alternative? Of course! Free Market Economy. :)
@teeterharris bingo! absolutely right... and all the misplaced and erroneous criticism of free markets based upon the crony capitalism and corporatism in bed with the gov't is an easy and lazy way to give an excuse to call for a new system.
@HamsterGutz WOW!!! I can't believe they would actually let you see this anti-government anti-union video! LOL!!! What state do you live in? Probably not the People's Republic of California.
The debt when George W. Bush took office was $5.727 Trillion when he left it was $10.627. The debt/GDP increased by 27.1% in eight years of office (It was 83.4% when he left office).
.
Obama claims that his spending is reasonable better than Reagan. He proposed 3.7 Trillion with a deficit of 1.4 Trillion for 2011. Currently based on usdebtclock org, the debt/GDP is 97.2%. Obama in two years of office increased the debt/GDP by 13.8%.
I don't get something. After they show each president and the public debt, is the total amount of public debt the amount of debt they accumulated? Or is it the amount of debt the entire country had at the end of their administration?
This video is well done, but misleading about Reagan. It makes him look like he didn't spend much. Actually, Reagan’s spending surpassed even Carter’s irresponsible estimates. Reagan not only increased government spending by an enormous amount – so enormous that it would take a 40 percent cut to bring us back to Carter’s wild spending totals of 1980 – he even substantially increased the percentage of government spending to GNP. He would have done well, to practice what he preached.
@CPIndiana We blame the Presidents and they are responsible but so is the Congress. The courts, the States and especially the people are responsible for letting the spending happen.
Actually the spending began the same time federal income tax began -- when in 1913 the "Liberty Tax" was put in place (and never repealed as promised).
This was support the SPENDING in WW1. So to suggest it all started with FDR is hogwash. The greed was plenty healthy just prior to the Great Depression, and the simple fact is, GREED is the cause of all federal spending in order to REPAIR THE DAMAGE that greed causes. So utterly simple.
@AnarchoConsciousness Funny I just noticed your post after I posted mine, I'm amazed that you come to the same conclusion I've come to!! Seems to few people have the ability to look back in history, they won't even check back 10 or 20 years to see how A led to B led to C etc. Good job!! (I can show how Reagan began the current economic crisis but nobody who worships at his feet wants to see the truth). Reagan was the worst president ever in a manner that escapes so many.
@Someideasandstuff notice how they throw in the part about "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall" ?? Well that not only has nothing to do with our economy or deficit, it's also a huge lie that Reagan helped bring down the wall. He merely took credit for it. Daisakiu Ikeda had more to do with the wall coming down than anybody I'm aware of. But most people will never know who he is.
@rqbuchanan I'll agree with that--the quality is exceptional &while well-researched, I smell just a bit of partisanship in there. Nevertheless, it misses the ultimate truth that really matters: The causes of spending, not the symptoms of spending. That is, what causes our government to spend, add programs, etc.? It's all due to spiritual illness in human beings, &the No. 7 Deadly Sin that causes all of it: Greed. Add to that selfishness, lack of compassion, fear, etc, &you have a bad economy.
@furyofbongos It was well managed even through the Civil War, without any federal income tax whatsoever until 1913. I have to wonder that the videographer mentions the wall coming down in Berlin but fails to show photos of all the tent cities across America during the Reagan administration. The only good thing Reagan did for most folks was that wonderful cheese, huge blocks of it, there were times I had to live on that when unemployment was way up. Otherwise Reagan sucked.
Ha Ha Ha! Over 7 minutes and not one peep about the Military Industrial Complex. I understand that the parts per million of the molecules of burning bodies from half way around the world are too small to be detected in the nostrils of war mongering tea partiers--so that part of it doesn't matter, but how is it that they can't detect the $1 trillion per year price tag--being that their supposed to be such sticklers for budgetary matters and Austrian Schoolers and such?
@AdnanKhashoggi I think they didn't focus on it too much because it would then serve as a distraction, but in fairness to them, they did mention Reagan's and Bush II's military spending. but yeah, I wish they had more on it too, especially Vietnam spending during LBJ years.
@JumpinJesuits, How about maybe mentioning Roosevelt's WWII which ratcheted up the US Police state to new heights? Oh that's right, Hitler annexed Poland, so FDR had to annex the whole Pacific Ocean so we wouldn't have to speak German or Japanese.
War is the HEALTH of the state. As Mr. X said in the movie JFK, "War is the organizing principle of all societies." You can see how it has "organized" you into believing the warfare state is a distraction from the welfare state. The welfare could never exist without the warfare state.
@AdnanKhashoggi um...you're barking up the wrong tree bud. Just because I have positive comments for a well-produced vid doesn't mean I agree with everything the makers of it say. they're hypocrites, but they still made an awesome vid, get a grip.
@1977Melville Hey dija notice when they quote Bush43 "Free Market System"?? Truly, these politicians don't ever lie, they just never finish any sentence that tells the whole truth!! Yesit's a Free Market System for certain segments of society, just like Liberty and Justice For All is only partially true -- the end of that sentence is missing too. The IDEAL and the REALITY often don't agree. It's BECAUSE the market is free for a certain few that we have poverty and need social programs.
@israelandersonvideo You sir, are a fool if you think that Ron Paul is not completely senile and that he would allowed to be president. We have already handpicked our candidates for 2012 and let me give you a clue: they serve our interests! Must be a member of the Bilderberg to be president. Sorry Ron/Rand and Gary Johnson, haha!
@mariecx it's not accurate actually. the debt is more in line with $60 trillion, not $12 trillion.
it's accurate as far as "on the books" debts is concerned but doesnt mention "off book expenditures" like social security and medicare. Probably no one would believe a youtube video that correctly asserted that we're $60 trillion in the hole. Those numbers come from David Walker, former comptroller general for the USA.
Exact reason I'm with the Constitution Party now. It's time to stop the spending and you won't get that under either of the two major parties, that's for sure!
Anyone who believes that this is NOT a conspiricy by the Federal Reserve bankers to use fiat currency and lust for power to collapse America in it's own debt in order to create a World Gov't serfdom is absolutely hiding their head us thier ass.
@savagegalt Those three individuals support an aggressive foreign policy and the maintenance of the military industrial complex. This is where most government spending goes, and guess who underwrites the securities to pay for these endeavours. My Zionist buddies who run the large investment banks of Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, etc. Doesn't matter which party is in power, we always win!
If you ever want to challenge the global hierarchy, we will just label you anti-semitic and the debate will be over. Playing Christians against Muslims, atheists against Christians, blacks against whites, blacks against Mexicans, whites against Mexicans, etc, etc is the name of the game. When the country is divided and splintered, We the United Banks of Zionism always win. The people of this world will never be smart enough to figure it out.
@Hairylegs25 Does having more money than the average person could dream of make us happy? Absolutely, but it's important to keep in mind that we could always have more as long as all the gentiles have less
@EyeAmTheIlluminati yeah, yeah, ok, i see your point and all that. But tell us, not endowed with the possibility to rule the world, what's funny and enjoyable about doing it your way? I'm curious because I would do it differently.
@plmnw Not endowed with the possibility to rule the world? I wouldn't know it any other way since we already rule the world. Our main concern is the fact that pockets of freedom seem to be spreading that undermine our control. For instance, a growing number of people are growing their own food and only spending money in the black market. This is very concerning for us, so we will continue to press Congress and the President to pass bills regulating citizens' feable attempts @ self-government
@plmnw S. 510 is a great bill that restricts citizens from being able to grow their own food. It puts all backyards under the control and authority of the FDA. There are various state laws outlawing citizens from collecting rainwater as well, which could be filtered for personal use. Anytime citizens live off of the land, it undermines the authority of our monopoly on currency, which allows our monopolies on banks. Capital controls are coming soon to restrict farmer's markets from competition
Ron "It's On" Paul For It All In 2012? coming soon
How do I know? Because I used to be one of those idiot neo-cons who didn't know anything about Ron Paul until Campaign4Liberty and after Ron Paul had already gotten screwed in 2008.
Brushfires in the minds of men---No Army Can Stand Against An Idea Whose Time Has Come.
@savagegalt Hahaha! You can only hope! We, the United Zionist Bankers of World Government, have already handpicked our yes-men and the Paul family is not part of it. Only those affiliated with our Bilderberg Group, CFR, and Trilateral Commission are allowed to run this country. We are the puppets behind the scenes, we manipulate Christians and Muslims to fight wars amongst themselves while we profit. Cui bono? WE DO! Hahaha! Central banking FTW!
Americans won't care until the dollar becomes worthless. The criminal cartel of banksters at the privately held Federal Reserve central bank are currently monetizing the debt with another round of quantitative easing, the US Dollar will be worthless within 1-2 years. The majority of Americans assets are in dollars, this will wipe out everything they have and impoverish the world. The collapse will be epic so prepare yourselves for rough times and wake up to the dual dictatorship of Reps and Dems
I like that its Non-Partisan, showing the destruction of every president since FDR, no matter their political affiliation. so hopefully more ppl will be open minded, and pay attention.. I agree with Bhart75 too, I don't think people understand the direct effects on them, mostly cuz they aren't writing out a 33,000 check to the govt, at the end of every year.. its a fukin shame really
The Problem with the video is for 90% of the population It's nothing but a bunch of big numbers, and they have no idea how that directly effects them... It's something the govt. over in Washington is doing separate & away from them. But had it given thos effects after each pres. they'd get it! For Ex. Carter - consumer prices sky rocketed, Tax were at an unbearable high, virtually all entrepreneurship, (esp amongst minorities) came to a grinding halt, etc... Then maybe they'd get it!
@atrickpay11 - Agreed. Ron Paul will be the first one to tell you that we cannot rely on one single person. Google "Lew" and take a look at the site that Ron Paul himself reads every morning. Encourage others to do the same!
We are still a nation of fools surrounded by 100 nations of idiots. This video has 13,xxx views and Lady Gaga has 200 million. That's 20,000 to 1. Not what I'd call hopeful. Nothing is going to stop us from becoming a India or Mexico/Brazil elites parasiting off the clueless masses.
@anon2999 Congress has turned over many of it's duties to the executive.. that's why it starts out with FDR saying grant me BROAD EXECUTIVE POWER! But you are onto the right track, and there is a reason the legislative branch is first in the constitution.
They misspelled amendments and the white on white lettering was unreadable.
Otherwise It was slick and polished but I've seen different spending figures for the national debt per president. Guess it doesn't matter much, it's still trillions...
This video is GREAT....well made and VERY informative.....I am glad to see people making videos that aren't about " kid wipes out on skateboard", or " news reporter farts on air ".....well done!!!
This video should of started with 1913 the conception of the Federal reserve but I commend your video it's great quality and you have a unique talent. Keep up the good fight I am curious. What do you think of Ron Paul and Campaign for Liberty?
Inflation shouldn't be included in the analysis so the average Joe can understand how government spending has destroyed the dollar's value. Inflation is not just a scientific value--it's a hidden tax caused by overspending!!
Useless without inflation adjustments. Yes money supply increases exponentially so the climbs seem very steep. But for a truthful analysis the exponential component of the spending function must be eliminated
First download the video (google "download youtube" if you don't know how), and then use one of these 2 free programs to extract the audio: 1) AOA Audio Extractor 2) FLV Extract
by anymeans, anyway. Its not a partisan issue. Its not conservative v. liberal, its freedom v. oppression. Its about big government getting bigger, getting more involved in our lives. Its about our CONSTITUTIONAL rights being impeded on, perpetuated by our FEDERAL government
@akkrauta Unbridled government spending (and the power to spend) under the executive really took off under Lincoln.
@croyleentertainment This was particularly balanced in that it DID mention the agencies given. It is up to a critical viewer to determine which of those agencies or programs actually has benefits that outweigh the costs. Mass transit and industry standards would have existed without government, though: your post assumes that little useful would have come without government.
Wow this really puts it into perspective doesn't it. I don't care who you are for against. Watch it and you will see they have all screwed the people. it get worse year by year. but in this case the worst screwing has come in just 10 months.
I like how more people are concerned about what songs are in this video then how our currency is going to be worthless in the next few years. Its time to stop listening to techno and wake up sheep.

Why did you leave out the Federal Reserve act of 1913 which led directly to the Great Depression? Excellent job with the graphics and timing.
AnarchoConsciousness 1 year ago 3
@AnarchoConsciousness Funny I just noticed your post after I posted mine, I'm amazed that you come to the same conclusion I've come to!! Seems to few people have the ability to look back in history, they won't even check back 10 or 20 years to see how A led to B led to C etc. Good job!! (I can show how Reagan began the current economic crisis but nobody who worships at his feet wants to see the truth). Reagan was the worst president ever in a manner that escapes so many.

Someideasandstuff 1 year ago
@Someideasandstuff notice how they throw in the part about "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall" ?? Well that not only has nothing to do with our economy or deficit, it's also a huge lie that Reagan helped bring down the wall. He merely took credit for it. Daisakiu Ikeda had more to do with the wall coming down than anybody I'm aware of. But most people will never know who he is.
Ermengarde11 1 year ago
This really is a very well-researched, exceptionally produced presentation. I'm sending this to everyone I know.
rqbuchanan 1 year ago
@rqbuchanan I'll agree with that--the quality is exceptional &while well-researched, I smell just a bit of partisanship in there. Nevertheless, it misses the ultimate truth that really matters: The causes of spending, not the symptoms of spending. That is, what causes our government to spend, add programs, etc.? It's all due to spiritual illness in human beings, &the No. 7 Deadly Sin that causes all of it: Greed. Add to that selfishness, lack of compassion, fear, etc, &you have a bad economy.

furyofbongos 1 year ago

AdnanKhashoggi 1 year ago 3
@AdnanKhashoggi I think they didn't focus on it too much because it would then serve as a distraction, but in fairness to them, they did mention Reagan's and Bush II's military spending. but yeah, I wish they had more on it too, especially Vietnam spending during LBJ years.
JumpinJesuits 1 year ago
@JumpinJesuits, How about maybe mentioning Roosevelt's WWII which ratcheted up the US Police state to new heights? Oh that's right, Hitler annexed Poland, so FDR had to annex the whole Pacific Ocean so we wouldn't have to speak German or Japanese.

War is the HEALTH of the state. As Mr. X said in the movie JFK, "War is the organizing principle of all societies." You can see how it has "organized" you into believing the warfare state is a distraction from the welfare state. The welfare could never exist without the warfare state.

Just curious....what's the source of all this info? Is it accurate? And who created the video?
mariecx 1 year ago
@mariecx it's not accurate actually. the debt is more in line with $60 trillion, not $12 trillion.
it's accurate as far as "on the books" debts is concerned but doesnt mention "off book expenditures" like social security and medicare. Probably no one would believe a youtube video that correctly asserted that we're $60 trillion in the hole. Those numbers come from David Walker, former comptroller general for the USA.

@Hairylegs25 Does having more money than the average person could dream of make us happy? Absolutely, but it's important to keep in mind that we could always have more as long as all the gentiles have less
EyeAmTheIlluminati 1 year ago
@EyeAmTheIlluminati yeah, yeah, ok, i see your point and all that. But tell us, not endowed with the possibility to rule the world, what's funny and enjoyable about doing it your way? I'm curious because I would do it differently.
plmnw 1 year ago
@plmnw Not endowed with the possibility to rule the world? I wouldn't know it any other way since we already rule the world. Our main concern is the fact that pockets of freedom seem to be spreading that undermine our control. For instance, a growing number of people are growing their own food and only spending money in the black market. This is very concerning for us, so we will continue to press Congress and the President to pass bills regulating citizens' feable attempts @ self-government
EyeAmTheIlluminati 1 year ago

Maryphilbin 1 year ago
The Problem with the video is for 90% of the population It's nothing but a bunch of big numbers, and they have no idea how that directly effects them... It's something the govt. over in Washington is doing separate & away from them. But had it given thos effects after each pres. they'd get it! For Ex. Carter - consumer prices sky rocketed, Tax were at an unbearable high, virtually all entrepreneurship, (esp amongst minorities) came to a grinding halt, etc... Then maybe they'd get it!

Inflation shouldn't be included in the analysis so the average Joe can understand how government spending has destroyed the dollar's value. Inflation is not just a scientific value--it's a hidden tax caused by overspending!!
trem0lo 2 years ago 2
Useless without inflation adjustments. Yes money supply increases exponentially so the climbs seem very steep. But for a truthful analysis the exponential component of the spending function must be eliminated

Gfrazzyfraz 2 years ago 3
@akkrauta Unbridled government spending (and the power to spend) under the executive really took off under Lincoln.
@croyleentertainment This was particularly balanced in that it DID mention the agencies given. It is up to a critical viewer to determine which of those agencies or programs actually has benefits that outweigh the costs. Mass transit and industry standards would have existed without government, though: your post assumes that little useful would have come without government.
