  • What is the tune you are playing ?

  • what is the matter with u peopoople- feedback is a beautifull thing!

  • @nudezooland when controllable, yes! but with this guitar it's somewhat beyond feedback, not your average guitar vibrating, more a pickup being microphonic, making your amp squeek.. it's a matter of taste i guess :P..

  • @nudezooland i agree m8

  • I am considering to buy this guitar but on every review of this guitar people are talkin about the feedback. Is it really that bad ? or is it just a small minor in a guitar with a lot of good good stuff ? (Sorry for the rubbish english, Im not english)

  • @159t6 I think it is a very useable guitar, just as with any (semi) hollow guitar, you are gonna get some feedback, Yes, it is slightly more sensitive to feedback, because of the metal p90 covers, which tend to be microphonic, but if you get used to it, it can be used to your advantage.. I should also mention that on mine, the Bigsby doesn't work properly, so I barely use it.. Hope this helps!

  • Mike vallely? lol

  • Do these P90's hum a lot on higher gain?

  • Hello since this one ............... agame a favor I am of peru bright green and am looking for a guitar epiphone EMPEROR SWINGSTER ROYALE and not since I can find the buyer or the link of his facebook or name and surname of the seller of these guitars gustaria q was helping myself please

  • @highschoolmusical841 oh without a doubt. I'd much prefer an american over an imported guitar if i could choose. Unfortunately, i'm like most folks these days and have a passion for music, but dont have the income to continue to feed it with american made stuff. I do also want to point out that there are always exceptions. I have a mexican made stratocaster (fender) that i've worked on over the past year or so and i'd put it up against an american standard any day.

  • I really want to get a Hollow body, but I was trying them out on a Fender Hot Rod (its what I own along with a Peavey Delta Blues) I wasnt happy with the tone though. It sounded nice but I'm used to that Texas blues and Alternative, rock tone, (any one know a good hollow body for this?) this of course was more jazzy and I knew that! I'm praying that it will give my rhythm section a different fuller sound. but dont mind my babble Im just a Tone Junkie!

My Motto "Tone, Collect the Whole Set."

  • Is the wildkat a full body hollow body or slim body?

  • @morbe77 it is a slim-bodied, semi-hollow body guitar. i think slightly slimmer than an es-335, but somewhat thicker than a les paul. real comfortable size and weight.

  • I stayed to listen, very nice playing

  • I've been trying to decide whether to go with this guitar or the Gretsch you say you have (the G5122). What's your take when comparing the two?

  • @MrDannyo13 the gretsch's bigsby is more responsive than the one on my wildkat, which doesn't quite do the trick, the higher strings are hardly affected, and it's hard to stay in tune when using it.. i think it would have been a better guitar without bigsby..

of course the gretsch's body is larger, completely hollow, as opposed to the wildkat which as far as i can tell has a chambered body.

also the wildkat's p90s tend to be microphonic, due to the metal housing.

have you tried an epi casino?

  • @deevje I've considered a Casino, however I was wanting to head in the direction of a guitar with a Bigsby. I guess I could swap tailpieces if I wanted, however I'm not extremely experienced with modifying guitars. Is there much difference between the Wildkat and the Casino, tailpiece and cutaway aside?

  • @MrDannyo13 well, what i can find on the casino is that it is true hollow body, whereas the wildkat is quite solid, with hollow wings (this gives it a somewhat hollowbody sound, but will be more les paul like than the gretsch or casino, less feedback from the hollowness, but more so from the p90s)

also i have seen casinos with bigsby as well. im not sure what you will be using the bigsby for, but if i were you, i'd try'em all out in the store, and as i said, my wildkat's bigsby kinda sucks..

  • Fantastic playing man. Sounds great. Killer tone.

  • Does this play jazz well?

  • @bluedagger46 it sure does! the p90s are almost asking for it.

i will try and put something more jazzy online, as far as my abilities let me :P

maybe go through the different volume and tone settings.

first i have to wait for my sm57 to arrive, then the recording can begin again!

    peace!

  • Thanks for the response! The thing is I'm looking for an electric guitar since I've been playing acoustic for around 4 years now and I wanna try some warmer sounds for jazz, and also go a bit distortion-y for some rock, and I got a nice offer on a riviera but it got taken right in front of me. then I looked at casinos. Wanted to buy a casino from thomann.de but I saw the wildkat, and that it has a preinstalled bigsby. So I think I'm actually gonna buy it! But some jazz sounds would be awesome :)

  • I think this dude digs the color cream!....hes aN albino rock star

  • You got the skills and I love that guitar! Looking forward to seeing your Gretsch in action!

  • wow is that new series?? gold hardware??!! is different from common epi wildkat

  • @gergori543 this one is a wildkat deluxe, limited edition in trans white with some kind of custom shop logo on the back of the headstock.

honestly i think there are no huge differences between the common wildkat and this one, except aesthetically of course..

love this guitar, it's my no. 1 gigging guitar at the moment, together with my gretsch g5122 (videos coming soon).

    thanks for watching! cheers!

  • @gergori543 just wanted to let you know. i'm not sure if you've noticed but Epiphone just recently released a limited edition series called "Royale", they made a wildkat too. only cosmetic difference from this one is a gold pickguard.

  • I cant hear anything

  • @TheDevillll i checked, it still works here..

  • Thanks alot! I'm gonna check out the rest of your vids! Keep up the good work! You should check out the inspired by John Lennon model it's about $1000.00 check out the specs on the epiphone site (Gibson) Have a good night!

    D.

  • Thanks for the vid! That sounds great, I just ordered my classic 50 today. What do you think of a Casino paired up with this amp. Take care

    D.

  • @TheDennyFrench Hey man, thanks! It sure is a great amp. I tried it head to head with some comparable Fenders, but this one won, even with a slightly bigger price tag. This is the '93/'94 model, I'm not quite sure of the differences with the newly built ones, but as far as I can tell the new ones sound great as well.

I think it will work like a charm when combined with a casino, it just loves those p90s :D

    I need a casino as well.. :P

    Have fun with your amp!

    Cheers!
