  • One of the jocks mentioned in the signoff was "Boom Boom Brannigan." Were they airing tapes made for them by Boom-Boom Brannigan, the afternoon drive jock at WPTR-AM 1540 in Albany, New York from the early 60s to the early 80s? (WPTR was the Capital District's big top 40 blowtorch back in the 1960s, with a 50,000 watt signal that covered all of eastern NY and New England after dark and may have even crossed the ocean and hit Europe once in a while.) Or did they just borrow the original's name?

  • Great Stuff !

  • What is the song after the Animals song with the jazz flute in it? I need that song in my life!

  • @groovechaser its called the fife piper by the dynatones. is on a Goldmine cd called twisted wheel story. came out on Pye over here HBR in the states.

  • @MrMarkwelby Thanks MrMarkwelby! RIGHT ON!!! I would love to make a cool song like that.

  • It looks like Radio Caroline and the other the '60's pirates will soon be in the news again.

In April 2009 there is a film called "The boat that rocked" being released.

It's set on a North Sea Pirate station in 1966, and will hopefully introduce a whole new generation to those great stations which were listened to by millions at the time.

    Hurray!!

  • "Swingin' Radio England closes down for the night with Dodger Ray"? Sorry, mate; it's Roger Day.
