I for one, find it difficult to judge the tudor mindset with my 21C understanding, never the less it generates interest in history and stimulates one to find out for themselves,
I really enjoyed this clip, great music, great clips, great work, I just wish the written could try and show a bit more of what really happened that's all, oh well, Thanks anyway, love this video !
Whose's this song by? Anyone who like's the turors and whats a real account of what anne and the rest of his wife's were really like have a read of the 6 wifes of herny 8th by alison weir
this is a fake representation of Henry VIII's sex life...in this show they exercised every position in the Kama Sutra but as we know it, in Henry's time they only had one position i.e. missionary!! :P
ha! ha! good point! pretty knowledgeable for that time period. Jenna J had nothing on them apparently if we're 2 belive the sex scenes in this show! lol!
Biggsy, you gotta look at why people are watching this particular show. It's not to actually learn the truth about what really happened so much as - it's a great show based on a lot of historical fact BUT the juicy stuff is embellished so that it can compete with the highest-rating shows in the same time slot.
Yes but people who are actually interested in this period of history some of the innacuracies are insuluting. Especially since some idiots will actaully believe that all that happens in the show is actaully how it all happened. That it was annoys me the most
well, then people actuatly interested in the facts shouldnt watch the show if they are insulted. no one is forcing you or them to watch it. but dont ruin it for others, by telling us not to watch it.
I'm not saying don't watch it your missing the point completely. I enjoy the show myself but it frustrates me the ignorance it creates among people who believe that they way it happens in the show is actually the way it happened. I also think the writers of the show doubt the audiences intelligence (even people who know nothing about the period). I'm not telling no one not to watch it at all
I am sorry to say this, but this series is utter junk. It bares no semblance in reality. At least they could have got an actor with a beard - Henry wore one for most of his life. It just shows you how far historical figures have now been turned into pornographic muse acts to appeal to audiences. It is a sad day for history.
it's tv. I'm probably one of the few who enjoys the acutal real history of the charcters, but I know it isn't fact. I don't expect it to be. it's just another junk show to watch after a long week of whatever.
The only thing Anne can really be accused of is being charming, and _not a slut_. If she had submitted to the King's lecherous will, she would have become his mistress (History would have taken a completely different path; we may just have a reference to her being the sister of Mary Boleyn, and a remark upon this.); but she didn't. She wouldn't sleep with him, and that is all anyone can really condemn her for.
Hmm, very true... can't seem to find the space bar either, but that's probably just me and my grammer issues.
If feel sorry for Anne (although, Katharine too, for the record: I don't want to seem bias). It'd be no wonder her ghost is meant to be in Hampton Court, bearing in mind the stigma attached to her memory, and what some people, past and present, think of her.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
what is your problem with her? honestly , she lived a LONG time ago. its pathetic that your devout your time to putting down a historical figure that lived over 400 years ago! and why just her??? why dont you hate Jane Seymour or Catherine Howard??? they did the same exact thing!
I am huge history buff and love to study anne boylen. I admire her imdependent nature and fighting for what she wanted, however she was not afird to speak her mind and people were not used to that backthen. Henry was self centered and had no right to behead her when he was chating with Jane, however he felt he could do whatever he wanted!!
True - Henry was an unattractive pot-bellied monster. He must have been especially disgusting to be around once he was ill and his leg was infected and festering. But then again those women were not nearly as attractive as they are inaccurately portrayed here either.
he wasnt when he was younger. when he was a young man, before he got his injury, he was a charmer and was very attractive. but he had orange or red hair, not brown.
wraithofthedark is right. When Henry was younger he was very attractive and athletic. He was considered "the handsomest king of his time." He got an injury while riding or something and could no longer excersise so he grew fat and such when he was older. Unfortunatly, most of the portraits we have now are the ones when he was older so everyone considered him old and fat, not realizing that he was the "Elvis" of his time, really.
Even younger portraits show that he was portly and NOT attractive. When one is very wealthy and powerful they are regarded as physically attractive. If you take an honest look at a lot of celebrities that are considered attractive today you'll see that they are more talented and wealthy than they are physically attractive. A lot of regular day to day people are more sexy and attractive than these celebrities. Considering the historical timeline the portrayal of King Henry is grossly inaccurate.
anne boylene was an independent woman far beyond her times when women were subservient. She was very intelligent and possessed a very sharp tongue.During her time as queen, she initiated debates on politics and sometimes, religion. There was an incident where she nearly earn Henry's ire because he perceives it as interference in the affairs of state, but managed to brilliantly explained her way out of it. Anne's mistake was that she was too self-possessed that she earn more enemies than allies.
Anne's downfall was pure KARMA!How the hell could she not know what kind of man Henry was?He was a disgusting, evil, womanizing and vile man.If he would treat Catherine, his wife, and Mary, his daughter, the way that he did,why wouldn't he do her the same,or even worse. She even went so far as to play a part in the cruelty herself.DISGUSTING!
Exactly!she encouraged H8's obsession!she asked H8 2 get rid of Kat& later even asked him 2 execute mother &child after angry sex followed by a blowjob!!She was a kniving slut who got what she deserved in the end.She got him with lies, manipulation& deceit,so she lost her head the same way!Live by the sword..die by the sword!she thought she was 2 clever 2 become a victim of her own vicious machinations. How could she NOT be called a slut? What?like sluts dont hold out 4 the big payoff?PLZ!

Is this on the basis of the show or actual history? She never deserved to be beheaded on false charges just so the King could marry the latest piece of skirt. Henry was the one who divorced Katherine and treated her like crap splitting her from her daughter. If you want to blame anyone blame him. And before you say Anne told him to do those things. No one told the King anything, the only one who had a hold on him was Cromwell
well lets be honest, she had him by the short hairs 4 as long as she held his heart & interest. She was an interloper in an already loveless marriage. she didnt make H8 fall our of love w/ Kat, she just encouraged his obession w/ her & then played it all 2 her advantage.Even if she eventually truly fell 4 H8, she isnt blameless.U dont marry a heartless cad who'd discard his wife & child and think u would fair any better! She should have known her time would run out.she was living on borrowed time!

yes but your basing alot of this on what happened in the show. The Historical reality is quite different. Henry stopped sleeping with KoA in 1524, Anne was on the scene 1526. He had spoke of divorcing her before Anne came along. And she belived she could give him a son so she thought her position was safe.
Anne's downfall was that she was self-possessed, arrogant, mouthy and independent in an age when women were supposed to be subservient and obedient to everything the man wanted. Add to that her failure to produce a son, and Henry probably felt he had no choice but to get rid of her.
he was having nightmrish dreams about her toward the end because that was the episode when anne got the sweating sickness and he was paranoid that she would die from it...hence the scene when she looks dead in his bed.
Actually, where she was laying there in 3:49, that was from the episode where she had caught the sweating sickness and he had not recieved word yet that she had recovered.
Really good vid! Bessie as Jane was a good choice, it worked so well! The execution was okay, but she was beheaded with an axe, but abviously, there aren't any axe clips. Henry having nightmarish dreams about her at the end was cool.
Anne was beheaded with a sword. Henry sent for the best executioner in Calais to do the job, as beheading by sword was much cleaner and quicker than an axe, which often took more than 1 blow to the sever the head. Sorry, there haven't been any sword clips for me to use - yet! :)
